To think just a little over a year ago we were beating the Sixers in the playoffs. And Baynes was huge against Embiid. Now look at our team. It’s a little sad right now. But a fresh start is exciting.

If Al stayed, I think Baynes would have stayed too.

Capela would look nice on this team. So would Vuc.

Seems this was a very specific monetary decision. Semi & Yabu combined are just $0.7M less than Baynes.

Why the feck are we giving away a big who gets 13 pts and 11 reb per 36 for his career, plays solid defense, makes less than $6 million, and a great teammate? Not to mention, who is Gordon gonna hang out with? I am getting so nauseous this off-season. Maybe I am pregnant.

Not that I'm a specialist when it comes to roster building but considering the fact we had Semi drafting Langford(and I like him a ton)was weird. Then we signed 2 PGs to 2 way contracts and we have Edwards.. So we got like Brown/Tatum/Hayward/Langford/Edwards/Semi/Smart(the 2 2 way contracts) and only 3 bigs in Yabu, Williams and Grant W.... With Yabu being borderline useless we got 2 bigs. We need starting caliber big(s) asap...even if we're tanking..
Good assessment:

We won 48 games with Amir Johnson, KO and Sully as our bigs but there was no Embiid back then. I like the idea of getting Vuvevic one the one hand - who else is there? - but we will never get anywhere without an elite defensive big. I think RW is legit but I think he is a couple of years away. I think it’s time to buckle up for a talkathon.

If Baynes doesn't get bought out and was sent to NBA no man's because DA's ego had to win the trade, then, DA is a total scumbag who needs to go. As far as I am concerned, everything that's happened since the IT trade--the Hayward injury, the Kyrie injury, the playoff run and two returning stars that destroyed this past season, AD trade falling apart, Kyrie and AL leaving--are all Karma for the IT trade. I know there are many Ainge-stans who will die on that hill but, as far as I'm concerned, that was an all time scumbag move. If there wasn't an agreement to buy him out, then Baynes trade could a lesser scumbag move but still a **** thing to do.

Ainge can go. He got gifted KG by McHale and hoarded and lost assets since then.

Do you pay attention to NBA? Did you see what Anthony Davis, Lebron, Kyrie, Kawhi and Durant have done to their teams? It used to matter ... what you are saying ... but those days are long gone.

In the NBA it’s business first and business second. If Ainge didn’t put team interests first he would need to be fired. In retrospect, I wish he was more of a “scumbag” and traded Kyrie and Al when he could have got something for them when it was obvious last season was a disaster. Hopefully, he doesn’t hesitate with Hayward if he has the chance before he opts out.

DeAndre Jordan, WCS(who will demand at least a 3 year deal, imo), Ed Davis, and a bunch of other dudes who I'm forgetting right now. Cousins, too, but I want no part of him.

I agree that Danny is going to need to soften his approach going forward, because treating players like they're literally plastic pieces on a chessboard is blowing up in his face and doesn't work with the younger guys in the league these days. I'm sure it's not all his fault, the media makes a ton of **** up, but I think Ainge fuels the speculation fire more than most GMs.

But the IT deal wasn't an all time scumbag move. That narrative is so easily refuted. What did you want Ainge to do? Not trade IT and other odds and ends we had lying around for Kyrie Irving? Not realistic but OK, in that case he spends the next season hurt in Boston instead of hurt in Cleveland and LA, and then he gets released anyway. Are we thinking he should've signed IT after last season as a charity? Maybe back up that Brinks truck? Like how far does Ainge's responsibility go to make up for IT's 2017 playoff run? He has to do what's best for the Celtics first and foremost.

IT hit free agency exactly one year too late. I love the guy, he's all heart and he was a hell of a player for us. He caught a really bad break. But that's not Ainge's fault.

GM's gotta start crying more if they're going to stay relevant in todays NBA. Bob Myers knows what's up.

Oh no we go that road again. So no Ainge you can't trade x because he played his heart out for his and his sister also died. No you can't do that anymore, sorry, no option, you're a scumbag if you do so.

The hell is wrong man. I felt so sorry for IT but it is what it is. These players are playing the same game. As someone said above, it's business first and business second. Eat or you get eaten. You just can't get sentimental here. Was Ainge all of a sudden obliged to give IT a contract because just, yeah because he played his heart out? If so, I would have deserved a contract too. And gimme a no trade clause also.

Danny better have something nice up his sleeve otherwise this is DUMB.

Loved Bam Bam and not just because he’s Aussie. Dude plays hard and always has a good attitude, something this team lacked last season.
