Interesting draft for Cleveland. Getting 2 top 10 talents with picks 5 and 30 is pretty good. I really wanted Porter until I saw him interviewed after he was picked. His tribute to his father was nice but he came across as really damaged goods. I hope basketball lifts him up. Definitely a gamble but he might turn heads in summer league. I wonder if they are still open to trading Garland.

None of our picks are going to contribute this year and probably not next year either.

Nah. This team has like no players, and will be bad. Langford and Williams will both get decent minutes i bet.

FWIW. All four of our picks appear in 538's CARMELO projections of top 50 most valuable players in terms of upside for the next six years.

16. Grant WIlliams (22)
20. Romeo Langford (14)
24. Tremont Waters (51)
31. Carsen Edwards (33)

When does Summer League start?

Raptors won a championship with Fred Vanfleet this year. Edwards has better length and Waters length is comparable.

quite possibly the worst draft Danny has ever had topped only by 2013 when he took Olynyk over Giannis. At every selection he chose poorly and passed on much better available players. Instead of taking high upside guys that could pay off down the road and help us become legit contenders, he settled for high floor guys who will, in the short term, help keep us as pretenders. I've NEVER been more frustrated on draft night following any sport. This was just about the worst case scenario. It could have been worse, Danny could have chosen a worse player than Langford. But that's not anything to celebrate. The only real bright side is by taking Langford we've upgraded over Jaylen Brown.

Wow. No wonder athletes don’t want to come to Boston. The negativity is unbelievable.

Romeo Langford is a “high floor guy”? Have you watched him? This was a consensus top-5 guy coming out of high school. You hate the pick, but think he’s an upgrade over Jaylen Brown, a player who’s already been a major playoff contributor at 22? Do you know what Jimmy Butler did in his age-22 season? Averaged 2.6 points and shot .182 from 3.

Who did you want, Bol Bol? Just bizarre reasoning.

Clint Capela is young.

I like Clint a ton, I just think he absolutely has no skills on offense, he's basically an athlete, who can dunk and lay the ball up. He has 3 years left on his deal, too. I'd rather take Adams for a year... Maybe resign him for like 15 mils/annually the year after that.

You'll all love Vucevic. Can't wait.

Playoffs (per game) this year: FG% - .362, 3PT% - .231, points - 11.2, TOV - 2.6

one playoff series vs a year/career of stats. If that's the case Kyrie should be offered MLE money after the Bucks series.

This is probably true. And especially with the draft where there are naturally fewer appealing bigs than wings and guards.

I predict not. Williams is the opposite of fragile. He is very strong, and has a very well rounded game. He was a two-time first team All-SEC selection (unanimous selection both times), and was the SEC player of the year last year. He has a very high basketball IQ, and plays bigger than his size due to his strength and wingspan (6'10"). Watch some video of him. I think you will be impressed. Also, here is a detailed scouting report:

Yea, I don't think so either. Grant is 250, 6'7, goes hard all the time and is tireless worker, he lost 20-30 pounds, I think. He weighs 40 pounds more than Bol Bol and is shredded. Bol's body is just not meant for basketball or sports.

Steven Adams still has 2 years left on his contract and it's pretty steep, but I like him a lot. I'd be happy to take him off Presti's hands.

...Goodnight...

Add Grant Williams to that list. He can definitely play the 5 in small ball line ups.

You're right, 2 years around 52 mils. Hmm, I dunno but I like him more than Capela as I think he's more physical and has a little 5-8 foot jumper, he's a legit tough guy, too and can hold his own against anyone(on defense).
