38.9% 3pt shooting this year in G-league. Let's see if he can even replicate this or better at the NBA level. I'll still contend this is what ultimately killed his NBA career. If he were hitting Pritchard-level percentages he had a chance. Similar to Pritchard, what brought me around on the pick was the range possibilities as both did not need to alter their shot to shoot it 30 feet or more.
Thanks Brad for answering my ad,

But after KP, your C play? You broke my heart Fredo.

Pistons put Carsen right to work. In their win over the Pacers, he played 31 minutes off the bench, scored 13 pts (5-15, 2-6), and had 9 assists, and 2 steals.

I'll never forget the preseason 3rd quarter in CLE and, years later, in the bubble, when he suddenly dunked all over Harden and Westbrook. I mean, WTF was that?

Well, he does have talent. His size works against him, but he works hard, and he can shoot it. He was putting up good numbers in the G-League, which is why Detroit signed him.

he also has amazing quads
look I totally talked myself into it and was a big believer, and I hope Carsen has a long and awesome career at some sort of professional basketball, but I'm done with Team Midget.

I feel pretty much the same. I too hope the best for Carsen, and also for Maine Celtics player Chris Clemmons, who has really been lighting it up of late. I believe there is a place in the NBA for them, but not on the Celtics at this time. I predict that Clemmons will land with an NBA team, and it wouldn't shock me if he did well.

I came across this highlight video of Carsen's season with his G-League team. We have always thought of him primarily as a three point specialist (at least I did), but I was surprised to see how much of his scoring came from drives into the paint, often through contact. While he is only 5'11", he is very strong, with a build reminiscent of Fred Van Vleet.

He's definitely a starter on the current NBA all-smurf team.

If he came to the Aussie league, he'd be legit. Height wouldn't matter, three point line a touch closer, and physicality doesn't worry him too much.

Same very basic reasons Bryce Cotton has been a star over here for many years

I agree. Carsen would probably be very successful in Europe or Australia. It's not out of the question that he can make it in the NBA, but I don't think it likely that he will be a regular rotation player. He has the necessary chip on his shoulder, though, and some talent, so he could conceivably prove a lot of people wrong.

I think that he can have a very successful year or two if he stays focused much like Shane Larson and Wannamaker.

I think one other thing to remember with guys like Edwards (Larkin and Wanamaker too, really) is how role dependant these guys are.
He's got NBA skills, if in the right role and system I think. But even working hard and staying focused won't help if he's trapped in an unfavourable role.
