we don't need no rim protection

we don't need no pick and roll

no bigs to clog up the flexing action

hey! danny! leave them wings alone

We don't want the pick next year, want it in 2021.

Not too sure on how it all works but how do we change it from 2020 to 2021 ?

We just signed an All-NBA player a couple of hours ago.

Tough crowd lol.

Tough crowd let's see now we draft small lose rozier, irving, horford, morris, baynes, and sign an older version of kyrie without the attitude. Let a plethora of decent bigs with good contracts walk without talking to them. so ya not a tough crowd a very smart crowd that sees a hurry up plan turn to no depth and below avg available bigs left that we will most likely have to pay and play, all the while almost every eastern team not named wizards increased there talent.

I can see questioning the K walker signing and preferring either value signings if even possible in this marketplace or a mini rebuild or some other max/near max player but losing Rozier(3 for 57), Irving(probably wanted 5 year max from Celtics if he had been willing to stay), Horford(4 97 + bonuses), Morris and Baynes given makeup of roster and the competition Boston was facing would have all been arguably good moves. One can argue about Baynes but he will be one year older at a time it really matters for a player of his caliber and end of the day Stevens didn't have consistent confidence in him in the postseason..

Milwaukee lost some players...granted they have a trade exception for the Brogdan loss and a first round pick and 2 2nd's so that is decent value. Toronto at best takes a very minor step back next year if they keep everyone and a more major step back if they lose Leonard. Still should be 50+ wins no matter what happens but won't win another title next year without Leonard if he leaves.

Realistically there is a decent chance that the caliber of starting big Boston is looking for will only come via a trade.

Yep. Seriously don’t get these everything is fine posts. I guess it’s to be expected from posters who spend months telling everyone Davis will be a Celtic when it never even came close.

All signing Kemba did was alleviate a disaster. It wasn’t some genius move.

Meanwhile the rest of our team got gutted and we are left hoping Jaylen Brown learns how to dribble and Tatum can figure out how to be a great scorer. Both fairly ridiculous expectations in just one off season.

You will be surprised how everyone being on the same page improves a team’s performance.

Rozier might have had offers in this range elsewhere and the S&T was the only way for them to get there.

He was going to get an offer sheet fcan'rom the Suns but for a lot less money and CHA approached Boston with the S&T trade concept. I can't really rap my head around the how just yet. My guess is that it involves a Horford S&T so Boston sent out more salary than Kemba's contract so both BOS and CHA operated as over the cap teams that are now hard capped at the Lux Tax. Should not have had to renounce Morris to do this.

They've already confirmed he's taking a 5 year deal with the Warriors.

I don’t want it. But I feel he is very active and would have signed right away or set up meetings. I think Ainge promised him but can’t release it until they get the money.

Been widely rumored, no?

I just hope it isn't for 4 years.

Might prefer Looney.

Yup.

The only bigs I’ve truly heard rumored were Kanter and Looney.

Then Kanter was supposed to meet with us and the Lakers shortly after 6:00 pm. Via call I think.

Now nothing. Big men flying off the shelf. I think it’s got to be him.

Or...

Celtics sign cousins to the MLE. That would be hilarious and make this board shut down.

Nah, said Rozier was close to signing in PHX for a lot less but jumped at the opportunity for the huge payday.

Honestly, Ainge is yet again giving our players we move on from a good situation to be in. I don't know how any player could look at his history of moving guys and say they are put in a worse situation. It doesn't always work out for the player but he doesn't try to hurt them when any other gm only cares about their organization. We did get a benefit from the trade too, of course, but we didn't HAVE to do it. Rozier would probably be looking at something around Rubio money if not for this move.

I hoped we'd pursue Vucevic over Kemba. I was in the distinct minority (and obviously didn't align with the front office's vision).

I wanted Rolo but it sounds like he's going to Milwaukee to play with his brother. That leaves WCS, Kanter, Vonleh, and Noah (last resort, obviously). Any other bigs left?

2019-2020 - we finally get to see if Jayson and Jaylen are worth the hype.
