I really like Al and loved his contributions to our team. Sucks to see him goto Philly.

But we had no business giving him that deal. Even last year , I feel his level of play in the playoffs dropped a bit. They have him 33-37 at nearly 28 million per. Once Simmons extension kicks in that roster is going to might expensive.

At this rate we may not get that before he is interviewed on media day in Philly--if at all.

I felt Al’s dropoff in play had a lot to do with first 1/2 of regular season, the lack of comebacks, and the failure of defense in 4th quarters to win games. However, I looked at his numbers in Bucks series and they were roughly 18/9 with 56% FG, 42% 3pt. That was better than last year against them. Looks like he was in top form when it mattered most.

Actually a lot of that is incentives, his guarantee is $97M, so it's under $25M/year. And the cap is taking another jump next season. Still, I'm fine with letting him go for that. Just as long as the C's do give Rob especially the opportunity and time this year and Stevens doesn't just toss in the short-term fixes instead, it'll be more the worth it to have moved on for that price.

Not sure about that, but (while I know absolutely nothing about this) I wouldn’t be surprised if Brad was hoping for/counting on more from Al in the locker room than he got last year. Again, total noob guess but the year before he cited Al and Aron for doing as good a job of leading a team he’d ever seen.

I was kinda half joking lol. But the "He can go do what he wants to do" is a little brash.

Same, love Al, but Danny was smart not to get into a bidding war with the 6ers and guarantee Al like 95+ mils over 4 years(cause Al's last year in PHI is only partially guaranteed, so Danny would've probably had to do the same). He did what was right for his family and also got himself a chance to compete for a title. That 6ers team has scary potential.

What an awkward "Thank you" message. Didn't really have to tell us that we didn't raise a banner, Al. We are all quite aware of that. Lol.

It reads like something he spent a solid 45 seconds dictating to his agent, maybe while deciding which toothpaste to buy at the grocery store.

Wish the guy well personally, because he was a good Celtic and a professional, but now he is no longer a Celtic and is an enemy!

Those on this board knew my stance on Al over the years, while I always have appreciated his impact, it wasnt enough.

Not a phony, it's just a corny speech, PHI offered him the most money, and probably the best opportunity to win, so he's saying "the right things".

I think that's Brad feeling a little betrayed that he bounced for a rival.
