Assuming Carsen Edwards makes the roster (which he should), there are two more sports available.

Could use another big man (best available) and another point guard (Brad Wanamaker or Shane Larkin)?

I would sign someone like Jared Dudley. Him and Kanter will bring the swag that you don’t bully our young guys around.

I would also grab one more vet that would contribute off the bench.

It’s not IT. As soon as we drafted Edwards I knew the IT train was over. If you want a retread, maybe Jeff Green?

Carter was the first one I thought of. But really, another big might make more sense.

This is a tough exercise at this point in the off season. What I will say is that Danny has about 3-5 more transactions to go before the roster is ready for camp.

The other thing I will say is that our bench rotation will not feature 3 rookies, a 2nd year, and Smart. Maybe 1 of the rookies, most likely Grant Williams finds his way in the rotation. Edwards/Langford spot mins at best.

Edwards might be more likely to make the 2nd unit than Langford off the bat. Brad can't really say no to plucky undersized gunners who can shoot the 3.

We definitely need a veteran point guard, shooter, or PF off the bench.

I really wish we could replace Yabs with someone who is not a complete waste of a roster spot (and he has been since he was drafted).

As of the moment, Theis isn't a Celtic. He's an RFA. Do you still see him coming back?

Yeah, it's really hard when you're basically capped at signing vet minimum guys at this point and it just comes down to: can you convince them to sign in Boston over whatever other team is offering the same exact contract? None of the FA deals are locked in and confirmed yet, either, so a lot is still up in the air across the league. So many guys are waiting to see what Kawhi does too. I imagine if he goes to the Lakers, you'll see a flood of vet min guys sign really quickly there. Maybe that'll happen anyway if Kawhi just re-ups with Toronto.

Remaining UFA that look interesting and cheap: Vonleh, Jerebko, McConnell, Jeff Green, Ennis. No one you want starting or playing more than 15 minutes, but hopefully enough to bridge a gap for a couple rookies. I'm fine with bringing back Theis and Wanamaker too. I can't imagine anyone offering either one anything the Celtics would be unwilling to match, and outside of one report like a month ago of Theis going back to Germany, why wouldn't they want to come back? Theis got so much **** for a guy who shot 38.8 from 3 and was coming back from a meniscus surgery he suffered in March 2018 (back to playing within 7 months).

EDIT: And just as I'm typing this I see that Poirier signed in Boston. So maybe there isn't room for Theis? WIlliams/Kanter/Poirier is gonna be a full Center position I'd imagine, although Theis provides an outside shot which none of these guys even remotely have and he should theoretically pair well with any of them because of it. Little Euro high-low with Poirier/Theis?

Was just gonna say the same thing, you beat me too it. No interest in keeping him at all.

TBH, I'm not sure. Ainge has a habit of having more than 15 Guaranteed contracts in Camp.
We may see all these Guys competing on the 20-Man Off-season Roster.

Same here. Yabusele needs to get traded if possible.
If not, then drop him. He's wasting a roster spot.

Yeah Theis at this point, would have to come in as a PF.
That may be possible. But, I'm sure that he could get a better deal (and playing time), elsewhere.

He doesn't really have a choice as the Celtics can just match any offer. Unless I somehow missed that they didn't offer him the QO?

Agreed. I have been saying this since we drafted him, hopefully we finally get rid of him...
