His success is/was going to be predicated on hitting a decent percentage from 3, since he does not rebound enough legitimately play a small 5 role. Getting a guy in Grant Williams with a similar small 4 length who is already farther ahead in development was the kicker.

Good riddance Yabufatse.

Well, it was a failed effort, an all sides.
He had a good personality though, no doubt.

That said, how do we address his salary loss? Stretched over 3 years?
Or, is it possible to pick up his next year, Without Guaranteeing it, and Stretch over 5 years?

This could be very important, as we finish out the Roster, and try to stay under the Cap (Tax, etc, etc.).
A 3 year Stretch would give us roughly $2 Million more to spend, this year.

I think it’s to give Carson Edwards a little extra on his contract. Not sure how Zarren will precisely word it though, but with this release coming on the heels of the news of Edwards contract talks, IMO it’s the logical explanation

Yabu always reminded me that we drafted (and stashed) him to make room for KD. Now I'll totally forget that we tried to land KD. Except maybe whenever we face KD in a game. Or when news about KD is on TV or he's being talked about on Twitter. Or when KD posts something on Instagram.

Wish him well, good kid, maybe he’ll get it together centrally.

He's a showman more than a serious competitor. He should have a fine career somewhere, giving pleasure to crowds and getting well paid for it -- just not in the NBA.

Yabu couldn't get 6 inches off the ground in Las Vegas. Maybe it's due to an injury, maybe he was completely out of shape. Whatever the reason, that's what did him in, both on the court and contract-wise.

Remember that selfie he took of himself in mirror where he was a ripped 260 with six pack abs? How can a guy get in that kind of shape even once in life and not be able to do better keep at staying in reasonable shape?

Do not feel bad for Yabusele. He is set for life. He is 23 years old and had a 3 year contract for $8 M. I think he will make $2.7 million this year for doing nothing.

Plus, he is still a talented player who can make a lot more money elsewhere for playing a game.

Good luck, Guerschon.

I am just sad knowing I'll never be able to say again to my French father-in-law: "Ours Dansan" (French for Dancing Bear)

Yabu had potential. Mobile for his size with a long wingspan and potential as a shooter. He just never took his body seriously and easily weighs well over 300 when he should be closer to 240. Oh well.

Bust.

We took a shot, and I liked him, but just didn’t develop quickly enough.
