Tentative 20-Man Training Camp Roster, 2019-20
Kemba - Brown - Hayward - Tatum - Kanter
Wanamaker - Smart - Ojeleye - G. Williams - R. Williams
Edwards - Langford - XXXX - Theis - Poirier

Two-Ways = Strus; Waters
Exhibit 10 ---------------------------------> Fall

Who should be the up to 3 Camp Invites?

I like Javonte Green and Chinanu Onuaku.
But from what I understand, the Greensboro Swarm may still hold Onuaku's G-League Rights.

Rem:
Those players Waived from Celtics Training Camp, can become Affiliates up with the Maine Red Claws.

P.S.:
We can carry up to 6 x Exhibit 10's at a time.

Celtics may actually wait a bit, before signing some players.

Invite Jontay Porter, please. I like Onuaku, too. Other guys around the league I like: Ethan Happ, Josh Reaves, Shamorie Ponds, Dedric Lawson. Not sure how likely it is that guys go to a different camp than the one they played on SL with, though. None of these guys have been given contracts, but they're all playing in SL with other teams. I would expect all them to spend all of next year one a two-way regardless, but I'd take any of them with that second two-way if we could manage it.

They can get Invites to other teams' Training Camps.
I think that once they sign an Exhibit 10, then they're kinda locked in.

I know they can, I just don't recall how likely it is that they play on one team's SL and then some other team invites them to TC instead. I think all the guys I listed are more intriguing than Jevonte Green or Chinanu Onuaku at least.

It happens a little bit.
I don't recall the exact players, but it does occur at a decent clip.

You like all these players more so, huh?

Invite jevonte but don't expect much.
Invite porter if you can. Add a center as the 3rd invite.

From our SL squad, Green & Onuaku seem like no-brainers to invite if we can get them. Other than the guys we already have (or will have) under contract, no one else has stood out. Porter would seem to be a nice get for the 3rd.

If a guy played well in Summer League, then there's also the matter of continuity within the system. I.e., he might be more useful for a teammate to practice and scrimmage with than a newbie might.

On the flip side, I can't think of any areas where there nobody on the TC roster with a particular kind of skill that might be good to practice against, inspiring the search for an invitee with that particular ability.

It's weird that we have 4 centers (Kanter/Poirier/RWIII/Theis) and only one real PF in Grant.

They really haven't replaced Mook's role on the team.

We really do need a PF. More like a Starting PF, at that.
I see Tatum as a 3-4.

Theis looks to be more of a 4-5 this year.

I don’t think you try this year, keep it simple for him, but I could see Timelord playing alongside another big and taking more the 4 role eventually. He could handle the defensive side now, but I think he’d be confused on where to be on offense,c ant stretch the floor, etc. But if a team with multiple bigs s killing us, he &Theis might work. Just flop roles at each end.

I like these two guys also...especially Onusku who can play either 4 or the 5...Not sure about their eligibility or if we can obtain those rights somehow?

As a back up plan, maybe bring back a guy like Dozier perhaps off the roster of last years Red Claws if that is possible?

I dunno?.. guess Dozier played in summer league for someone else?

Tacko should also get that plan invite for sure....maybe that makes three?

Yes, and even GWill is a tweener. Unless a roster change is made, I expect we'll see some hybrid lineups with Tatum/Hayward/Theis at the 4.

I think Theis was pretty well exposed against traditional/larger centers last season, but can fit as a bigger 4 or small-ball 5 backup. I still wouldn't be shocked to see some sort of Hayward-for-Dabonis trade, however, though that would give them a bigger, more traditional lineup than Stevens seems cut out for.

Now that green and Tacko are added into camp players, and our 16, there really wasn't anyone else on our summer league roster i was impressed with enough to invite. Danny should look outside our summerleague team and find another undrafted rookie or 2 that looked better in summer league and college.

He did well in SL. Doubtful he makes the team, but he may be able to showcase for someplace else.

Chinanu Onuaku seemed good too, as a PF. Not so much as a Center.
We could use him in Camp.

Carsen Edwards will 100% be in the rotation. absolutely zero doubt about it. Smart/Edwards will both play coming off the bench and be important pieces.
