What's the deal with Beal? And why do we care?

One of the few obvious star targets left. **** team, no extension, tight with (related to?) Tatum. Something to argue about. :D

A core of Kemba, Beal, Tatum and AD isn’t terrible IMO.

I'd say we have a slightly better chance of getting Beal than of getting AD (though both are very, very close to 0 percent).

One of these days I want a RealGMer to get the Chris Wallace call-up from amateur aficionado to an actual front office.

He’s great, but how would he do outside of our system?

Oh man...I don't think I have it in me to hope for AD again. :nonono:

He got what he wanted, and that is to go to La, and he still waiting to see how the season goes before committing. That is the NBA for you.

Title change. The Beal stuff may be ephemeral, but Kanter switchover will never die!

Curious how real this Beal stuff is. I wonder if Denver would trade them Murray. I love Murray but not sure he’s the guy they paid him to be.

If AD really had his heart set specifically on the Lakers and Knicks (to the exclusion of even the Clippers and Nets), then he's a clown. But I wouldn't necessarily assume the reporting was that accurate.

By way of contrast, the guys who just really wanted to live in LA or NY, and considered both teams in the respective market, were perfectly reasonable IMO in making such choices, except insofar as they didn't live up to the spirit of their contracts with any team they forced their way out of.

Even though I think the trend of players preferring LA and NY is absolutely AWFUL for most fans of the league, I can't argue that you're wrong about the actual choice by those players being reasonable. People are going to make the choices that benefit them and are allowed to do so. My biggest complaint about the situation is the lying and manipulation that goes along with some players making that choice.
