Nice article by Smitty, but it paints too rosy a picture in my book. This team is gonna struggle defensively, especially on the PnR and at the rim. Not a good recipe for anything over 45 wins, in my opinion. Unless Portier and/or TimeLord show something significant, teams with good guards will shred this defense. While I was never a big fan of Al, his defensive acumen was terrific. He could cover the perimeter AND hold his own down low. We may not have the talent to do either. And we still need to see how the wings are going to get their minutes and shots. Last year, Brad was horrible at lineups and rotations. And the wing rotation still is jammed with too many scorers, and not enough creators.
