How Good Is The Celtics Bench 2019-2020 Season

Post#1 » by thomas1897 » Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:06 am

At this time(the bench) it is an unknown factor and it will be determined quickly as the preseason games are played. My opinion is the bench will get better if Brad Stevens remakes his role in the development of good fundamentals and players abiding in his philosophy and staying within the parameters of good team basketball (discipline). Offensive rebounding and good interior defense will be important. Low post offense is vital to compliment outside shooting.

ESPN: 48 wins

Most of the media projection is about 47-48 wins.

Kemba Walker 2018-2019 team ORTG is 111.4, ranked 12, so Celtics offense will be better than that.

Celtics DRTG 2018-2019 is 107.8. Without Horford, I expect it will be about 109.

So yes, this is a 48 wins team.

The bench is likely:

-- One of Smart/Brown/Hayward
-- Theis, R. Williams, Ojeleye
-- Wanamaker
-- A lot of rookies, some pretty mature-seeming (Poirier, G. Williams, ...)

Hmm.

for once we don't have posts saying our bench could probably make the playoffs on its own?

okay I'll say it to keep the streak going: our bench could probably make the playoffs on its own.
As long as we start Wannamaker, Langford, Hayward, Semi and Porier ;)

Put Smart in there, and we probably do make the Playoffs.

It will be ok as long as we don’t have any lingering injuries to our starters. We’ll probably have 2-3 starters in there at anytime anyways.
