Guys we already knew his knee was still messed up. I don't know why we're freaking out about him getting it fixed. That's good news not bad news.

I guess we didn't think it was this bad; or at least I didn't. Walker relies on his speed, as do all small players, so it is concerning his knee is junk and it remains to be seen if this fix works.

Fair enough. He already rested the knee for months two different times and we heard a few weeks ago that it still wasn't right, so I figured there was a serious issue. I'm def not happy he's injured, but I'm glad he got this procedure. And the recovery timeline isn't that bad at all.

If the recovery timeline is correct from Brad, I think Kemba will miss something like the first 3 weeks of the season.

That's about 12-ish games?

Tatum went supernova last season when Kemba was out.
His absence = more shots for everyone else.

Brad didn't sound worried at all and even noted if this was a regular off season we wouldn't know about this at all

Eh, he had 4 months off and if this was the "fix" they would have done it way back when to have him ready to go for last year's playoffs.

Since surgery is no longer an option because he's had so many of them on his knees this feels like a longshot.

Hopefully this is a fix that can at least carry him through a season. But the clock is obviously now ticking and we don't know when his time is up.

Comments on the GB say Kobe had this treatment done and played 5 more mpg and "balled out" afterwards. Again, I'm not happy Kemba's knee is injured but getting this procedure is good news.

I knew in the playoffs it was bad, and I still think it’s worse than what they are telling us. Guy had 4 months off and wasn’t 100%. We don’t know if the stem cell treatment will work or if he will ever be 100% again tbh

If you strengthen your quad, your hamstring and your gluts, you should be fine. He got a stem cell injection. They take stem cells out of your hip and inject them into your knee. It’s a procedure other players have done and it’s worked for some and it can’t hurt. I think more than anything, this strengthening program — which he has been very diligent in so far — we’re encouraged he will be able to return at full speed. We do not want to rush the program since we are starting (the season) so early. I’m not worried about Kemba. He’ll be back and we’ll give an opportunity for Marcus, Jeff Teague and Payton Pritchard to play some minutes at point guard.”

Best players (from what I can tell), that had stem cell treatment:

Kobe in 2011? I think it was 2011
D-Wade in 2013
Steph Curry, not sure the year

and then as soon as he's cleared to return he will test positive for covid and have to miss another 12-days. This season is going to suck.

I know for a fact that they're more concerned than they're letting on, and looked into (maybe still looking into) acquiring Patty Mills.
