Tinypics has shut down its site. What site(s) are people using for their avatars?

Imgur has always worked well for me, just drag and drop onto the site and copy the link.

I changed from Tinypic to Imgur today.

I initially couldn’t get it to work when I copied the link directly from the Imgur page into the avatar section on my profile, but I found out through a topic in the Feedback Forum that you just need to add .gif to the end of the link and hey presto it worked.

Just search for an online editor site and resize it, then add it to Imgur. This is the one I used:

I like the sad tinypic one for me. The world has become less funny.

One word about imgur - when you upload pics, set it to Private. Don't worry - the avatar will still be visible. If you set it to Public, then all the millenials will comment about how grainy your picture is, or in my case, talk about how Paul Pierce sucks

I tried the same thing. Added .gif to the end of the link, still didn’t work for me. Keeps saying URL is invalid.

Not too sure sorry, brother. Perhaps the dimensions are too big? Is it an animated gif you are trying to add?

Probably doesn't need the .gif then if its just a picture. Someone more knowledgable about such things might need to help you out.

I joined the same year as you and just retired my Avatar after 14 years! I guess the shutdown told us it was time to move on
