NBA draft, who would you like for Celts to pick?

I know it's early, but so what. It's looking like we are going to have, barring a trade, 3 firsts and 1 second. Waters will have a contract with the main team next tear, which will allow the 2nd rounder to go to a 2 way. If we keep all the picks, who would you like for us to pick? At this time we have the 15, 26, 30 and 46. I would like to see:

15 Carey 6'10 C from Duke
26 Nwora 6'8 SF from Louisville
30 Tillie 6'10 PF from Gonzaga
46 Azbukie 7'0 C rom Kansas

As you see I think we need some height. I don't have any confidence in Poirier, R. Williams is just 6'8, Theis is just 6'8, G. Williams is just 6'6 and Kanter may not even be here next season. I doubt we will keep all 3 firsts, but if we do the one I really want, and it pains me to say this being a Carolina fan, is Carey from Duke and Azbukie from Kansas. Trade the other 2 firsts to improve the bench if you can.

I'd like to start by drafting only one at most. Tired of all these wasted picks.

I'm still ready to trade all our picks from last year

It's very likely that Ainge will waste almost all the picks just like in most drafts, so who cares.

I just saw a mock in which Onyeka Okongwu fell to us. Beyond him I'm naturally intrigued by N'Faly Dante.

Yeah I'm really intrigued by N'Faly Dante as well. I think he has big-time upside, and should be available anywhere from 10-14, which is where i expect the pick to fall.

I vote for drafting a Europian given the two leading mvps are currently from there

Really hoping Memphis pick gets delayed a year, but not looking so great right now.

As of now they have 15/26/30/46. Hope that 15 turns into 6 and it gets pushed to next year. But I like Okoro, Ramsey, Achiuwa, Carey around here. So much can change between now and June though, these guys have only played like ten college games.

Aleksej Pokusevski might be interesting if he's there at 26-30. Young and lanky af. Very likely he'd be stashed, he'll only be 18 on draft night. Feels like a 95% bust, 4% starter, 1% star kind of player. Perfect for this range and with having so many picks.I like Killian Tillie in this range too.

I'm projecting next year's roster as:

Kemba
Smart
Brown
Tatum
RWIll
GWill
Langford
Waters [in place of Wanamaker]
Hayward [at this point seems unlikely he'll exercise option with his injury history]
Poirier
Theis
Edwards

[Ojeleye cut]
[Kanter doesn't exercise option, probably goes somewhere he can start]
[Tacko I have no idea, I'm bearish on him but everyone loves him, would hope they could retain him on a two-way again]

So I can see adding a rookie or two, but definitely not three or four. And if they for some reason retain Wanamaker and Kanter? No room at all. Hopefully that 46th pick can be a 2-way player like Waters was this year, and stash one of the 26/30. Ainge has had some reasonable success in that 45-60 range, but really if you find one player a decade who can be a rotation piece, that's pretty good. Ryan Gomes, E'Twaun Moore. Waters looks like that guy, I thought Jabari Bird was that guy until he kidnapped and beat his girlfriend. Even getting the next Abdel Nader is pretty nice in this range. I don't see a lot written about Patrick Williams out of FSU but he looks nice to me, but I'm biased towards 6'7" SFs with defensive potential. Looks like a prime 3+D guy to me, what Semi could have been maybe.

In the late 1st (or 2nd if they don't have hype heading in) I'd like to take a shot at Richards from Kentucky or Bacot from UNC if they come out. Jalen Smith might go higher than he deserves, but he's another one I wouldn't hate if they picked if we're just focused on big-men. Tillie has had his hype dimmed significantly since his freshman year but I think he'll surprise a bit and play above his draft slot. I'm not super geeked about any one prospect yet in terms of a mid-teens pick.

I guess we will draft some undersized guards who can't shoot.

Worst draft ever.

The tall picks listed were close to what was asked for, if the picks were kept around.

15 Carey 6'10 C from Duke
26 Nwora 6'8 SF from Louisville
30 Tillie 6'10 PF from Gonzaga

Just had Austin Wiley in there, not Nwora.

Will probably need someone to have a big March to show they are worthy of being a Celtic.

If the results of the past week continue, the Memphis pick will be later than the Boston one.

As you can trade picks with new protection ideas now, moving the Memphis pick isn't a bad idea.

The draft is nearly all low% shooters in point guard bodies and undersized power forwards with few skills.

In the past, half the lottery could be 7-footers, now maybe only 1 or 2 go in the entire draft.

The big problem, most prospects in the draft are just poor-quality versions of players already on the team. Draft tall projects, but R Williams and Tacko are better. Tillie, a power forward from Gonzaga who can shoot from outside, sounds like something the Celtics really miss, or need.

If the Celtics draft three guards, someone has to go to the building with a cardboard sign that says Fire Ainge Cartel.

That is unfair. We might also draft an undersized Forward.

I'm trying to picture the last undersized guard who can't shoot that Ainge drafted. Anyone help?

EDIT: Nevermind, found him. Marcus Banks.

What about attributes needed. I think shooting, size, rebounding, rim protection are priority. Bench scoring, vet depth next.

edit: and a better backup PG who better be Waters.

Forgetting the worst of the undersized guards who can't shoot, Carsen Edwards.

Yeah it's been a pretty good haul actually. And literally zero small guards who can't shoot.

Avery Bradley outperformed his draft slot. Jared Sullinger outperformed his draft slot. Marcus Smart outperformed his draft slot. Rozier outperformed his draft slot. Kelly Olynyk goes higher in a redraft. Brown and Tatum he nailed, even got an extra draft pick out of Tatum. The recent guys too hard to tell. But you're right he's missed on some guys in the 25ish range like Fab Melo and Jajuan Johnson. But RObert Williams in this range is a steal, easily goes higher in a redraft. Langford was a consensus top-5 pick before his freshman year and Ainge got him for free (used pick from Fultz/Tatum trade). If he sucks, oh well, got him for free. If he's great, wow. He was getting rotation minutes recently as a raw rookie, I'd be bullish on him personally.

What kind of haul do you expect outside of the lottery? Every team sucks at drafting outside the lottery. The Nuggest are an exception it seems, Raptors too.
