But more importantly why are there guys voting "no"?

We can definitely take on the lakers and clippers. We almost beat them at their homecourt, and handed them both a beat down at our floor. Maybe we could find a way to contain Giannis. Guys that voted No, are probably non Celtic trolls!

Just remember. = There's No Homecourt Advantage.
All the game are in the exact same venue, with no regular fans. Just media, family and teams.

The 5th year issue is going to be interesting for Tatum and everyone really going forward. With the numbers of star players either being traded or leaving in that option year I can see organizations saying they really want to move away from it. It ends up being a motivator to move on than it is a motivation to plan to build around the player. The option year is such a burden on the team with the financial risk of being on the hook for bloated back end salary that your likely only going to pay if things go bad. If we are headed into a window where the future cap isn't going to support the max salary your paying out today I can't see owners willing to commit 35 mil or whatever it will be in a one way commitment. I think owners with leverage are going to say you can have a 4 year deal or you can have 5 year deal but no player options. A player in Tatum's position is probably more than happy to take his 5 years thank you very much.

Danny better start hitting on those draft picks and Brad has to develop guys like Edwards, Grant, Rob and Romeo or we will struggle to fill out this roster with like 110 million going into 4 starters.
A new dawn will rise in Boston. ‎#StayLoyal THANK YOU TRUTH!

Here is why you offer Tatum a max.

You pay players for future performance, not past. Is the expectation that Tatum is a max player? I say yes.

If you say no. Then don’t pay him max. This has nothing to do with his current performance except that it gives you an indication of where he is going.

Wow - when I heard about Tatum's reservations, I was going to ask this question and then I saw Keith's post. In normal times I would say "well wait a minute - people could always get injured every season. So players due an extension should take it easy every year? This would be even more of a black eye for the NBA than load management already is.
But in the coronavirus time it would be a great gesture for the NBA to allow signings now.

Yes. Without question, as soon as the rules allow. If they could ink the deal today I’d do it. Pay the man his money and let him focus on basketball like they did with Jaylen Brown. Once Brown got his deal and didn’t have to worry about his financial future his game took a substantial leap forward. I expect the same result in our budding superstar Tatum

Agree with this. I remember in an interview (don’t remember which) him saying the reason for his inconsistency at the first half of the season was because he was too focused about making the all-star game. Hopefully can pay him now so theirs no distractions in his head.
