Tremont was an eyesore today. Does he have any value off ball on offense? Dribbled the ball out of every possession. Every 3 he takes is off the dribble and he makes sure he's always around the ball. If he ever makes it in this league he's not going to be playing the brand of ball he plays with our young guys (unless the team is tanking). He's gonna have to concede pick and roll touches to other guys and play off the ball. I would have liked to see him work to get Romeo, Semi, Grant, and Carsen more of those touches. Maybe I'm being too picky, and I'm not sure if it's something about Brad's offense that funnels action through the point guard.

That was my rant of the day, but I'm happy with the way most of our guys played today. Semi might be buying himself another year in Boston. And sadly, I'm not sure we'll be ready to move on from Wanamaker next year.

How does a guy play 1233 minutes across six seasons, and still actually be in the league? He's either worth minutes at this point or not, right?

All I know is the starting five of Kemba-Brown-Tatum-Hayward-Theis has yet to lose an NBA Finals game. And they may never will.

this is a bad outing for waters because he has not looked to pass as much as he usually does. he usually plays to pass and shoot only when he has to.

I'll tell you what. Javante has shot the ball really well today. Wonder if he worked on his shot over the break. He's had a nice game today.

I'd honestly like to see more of Edwards too but I don't trust Brad enough to keep him and Kemba off the floor at the same time

Yeah. I'm extremely skeptical on Waters due to his physical limitations, but decision making typically has not been the issue. Clearly working on different things tonight.

Meanwhile, PA guy going hard on pronouncing Poirier's name.

In one game did enough for me to put him below every guard/wing on this team. Gotta see him play a brand of ball that someone acknowledges that he's usually the fifth best player on the court.

Don't think Kemba will play much. Edwards could give us some shooting off ball.. Allow Hayward to run point more. Can't stand having Wanamaker be backup PG every play while Hayward stands in the corner. Yuck.

Really good news I hate to see guys get injured especially in a meaningless game like tonight

Grant, Semi, and Romeo have separated themselves a bit in this game. Eight more games to solidify their spot in the playoff rotation. We only need 8 or 9 guys once the games matter. If I'm being generous, we have 11 guys we can count on in the postseason. SIX GUYS I'd bet my life on. Still iffy on Romeo. Kanter is situational. Grant and Semi are near locks for me. I'd prefer less minutes for Wanamaker that should just go to Hayward and Smart instead, but you just know Stevens will play him esp if Kemba is gimpy.

Well, I'm just grateful for basketball. Four and a half months off and we've already forgotten the dark times and are back in full swing fan mode.

Next up: an actual game. This is not a drill.

But apparently we should have taken Bol Bol who shot 36% FG and 25% 3PT in these scrimmages!

Grant looked like he's gonna be the one handling any big minutes behind Kanter in the restart. He looked good. Edwards had some moments but his shot continues to be inconsistent. Loved the big slam though. He needed that. Quietly Javonte Green had very good night. He looks like he spent the break working on his shot. Tremont had his first bad outing I think and Romeo, where for art thou tonight? Still...most important thing, nobody got hurt. We're all set for Friday to do this thing for real.

I think the thing about Waters is if he sticks around he's a third string guard or backup PG at his ceiling. He's not gonna be running offense against the other team's starters. He looked bad in the 4th too, but once you're a bit shook in the head it can be tough.
