It was more than missing shots. He was not any good on D either. We win this game easy if Tatum was not out there at all.I have no doubt that he gets his stuff together but it was an ugly performance by him all around.

He's rusty, bro. The monstars didn't take his powers. :D He will be fine. I'm starting to believe he really did chill at least 2 of the 4 months of the NBA hiatus.

He definitely just chilled 2 of 4 months, maybe more.

An don't underestimate the monstars.

Also give the Bucks credit. They blitzed him with a second defender every time he touched the ball on the perimeter.

An Tatum was supposed to split the defenders and take it to the rim. Getting an easy layup before they even realized it, or pass away from the double team. But he couldn't get 1 layup, and his ball movement was slow as well.

Tatum is too cool for school.

I said this last night, but this is NOT surprising.

I 100% expected and predicted something like 5-18. Unfortunately, it was worse. Tatum is NOT the player he was during that hot stretch, this was off seasoned. Tatum mentioned not touching a basketball during the quarentine.

That's an issue. He has all the talent, but the work ethic may be questionable. I hope fans aren't making excuses. Tatum didn't get himself ready, he's not in mid season shape and that's not what you want out of your best player. Tatum plays best when he's scoring well, when he doesn't, he frustrates himself. That's insult to injury there.

Tatum is 22 years old and won't be 23 until next March. I don't think it has anything to do with work ethic, and has everything to do with inexperience.

Classic body-swap-with-Duece*-for-24-hours is my guess and I think I’m cleaning up on this one, personally

(*Or with Kyrie)

I played a bad game once. It does happen.

He got lazy during the past 4 months. He looks slow because he is slow. He looks rusty because he is rusty. It’s a conditioning issue. Plain and simple.

I hope he learns from his going forward.

Anecdotal and totally unrelated, but Lebron once had a 2/18 game in the 2008 playoffs (G1, ECSF vs. Boston).

Mike happened early the coaching was let's take him out of his rythym. Then he mental defeated himself, still played decent d early but as the game heated up he beat himself on d as well.
No worried he didn't melt emotionally kept his head as the team stayed in the game which is good imo because he could have affected others but didn't.

So many over reactions here....Tatum sucked ass last night. He was horrible. Stunk. A **** game/games is not an indictment on his work ethic/training or anything more

Tatum's played about 250 games so far. Paul Pierce had played in half that amount during his second season when he was 22-years-old and his worst scoring output in a game where he played at least 30 minutes was 8 points. Tatum's had two massive 5-point dud games this season. This is not inexperience. It is work ethic and maturity.

In 2010, didn't Ray Allen break a finals 3pt record in one game and go 0-for on the next?

I think it has everything to do with work ethic. He’s already on his 3rd season, an all star and an all nba. Not touching a ball for 30 days is pretty disturbing especially for a budding superstar. I’m just bummed out because, i have been bragging to my friends about JT, then he laid an egg against the mvp. Also almost every main players have stepped up. Luka with a triple double, heck even westbrook put up monster numbers coming off recovery from the virus. He can’t have a game like this even if his shooting is off. 5pts 2/18 in 30 plus minutes? Damn! He must get his rhythm back. Every eyes is on him.

Yeah guys Tatum just doesn’t have a good work ethic that’s why he went 2-18 lol

Since when did Felger and Mazz get an account on here?

Doesn’t have a good work ethic....that’s why he changed his shot selection from year 2 to 3 and made a huge leap with his defense

Been a recurring theme his whole career. When his shot is off, it's "ugly" off. He couldn't have thrown the ball in the ocean last night. But it's one game. Gonna take at least two for me to be all wtf

Once you start missing its easy to keep missing. Same for making shots. Same for complaining online.

This is assuming so much on very little basis, just because the outcome you predicted was accurate does not mean the reasoning behind it is sound.

Well going 2/18 doesn’t reflect his work ethic, but saying that he didn’t touch the ball for 30 days, and looking slow and out of rhtyhm both offensively and defensively, could reflect that. We really don’t know whats going on with JT, it could be mental, but i’m hoping he gets his explosiveness and confidence back sooner rather than later.
