Raptors have lost by 15+ pts only four times this season, tied for 3rd best in the league. Two of those losses (-16, -22) came against Boston, including their worst loss of the season.

Bucks have lost by 15+ only twice all season. Celtics 3x.

Another nice thing about this game was Tatum's passing. He's already becoming more of a playmaker compared to pre restart season. When Tatum leverages his offensive prowess to benefit the team's looks and efficiency, Celtics are hard to beat.

Guys......let's not get too excited. Apparently, Nick Nurse has been hiding his full playbook from the Celtics all season long, and will finally unleash it in the 2nd round. Apparently the Raptors tanked last night's game because they'd rather face us over the Heat.

He's making quicker decisions with the ball, esp above the three point line. As soon as he sees the double, he gives it up to the open man. When he drives, his mind is no longer made up that he has to take the shot. He makes the simple pass when a guy cheats off his teammate, usually in the corner. In this game, even Jaylen was doing this too more than usual.

I'm still not fond of those possessions where we dump the ball to Tatum in the post and he plays with his back to the basket. He rarely gets doubled in those instances and we settle for his midrange fadeaway, an inefficient shot compared to our other options.

To be fair though Nick Nurse didn't show his cards last night. Celtics are complete frauds and aren't good/better than the Raptors. Oh well. Wish I could have enjoyed the 30 pt win before the starters went out.

Some Raptors fans are a bunch of clowns if they think Nick Nurse “didn’t show his cards” lmaooo. Gtfo with that garbage take. I’m sure the coach tells Raptors fans what he does or doesn’t do. Celtics are a nightmare matchup for the Raptors. Celtics are the Raptors on steroids imo. Nobody is scared of a struggling Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry led team.

If they won this game, they'd all be singing that we're pretenders and we'd be swept in the Playoffs.

Enjoy! Here a few of my favorites:

“I look at it this way, Nurse didn't want to give them any looks. We could have went big, we didn't. Let them find out, when/if we see them again.”

“ Im thinking that this was a throw away game by design”

“ It was a rest day.” - Yeah must’ve been why your starters played normal mins until you were down 30 lol

And here is the best one!

“After having some time to relax after that ugly mess of a game, I think they threw it. With how lock down OG has been there's no way he wouldn't be guarding Tatum. Why would they leave Fred on Tatum for such long stretches, etc. Plus if Nick really wanted this one he would've reached into the zone D bag of tricks. He's stated repeatedly they have schemes that he's not going to show until the playoffs. Let the Celtics get a big ego before we reveal the trap card”

I absolutely love this. Effort has been great defensively the past 2 games and it’s clear after the MIA game they’ve flipped a switch on both ends
I don't love it. Because that shows they weren't giving their best effort. Is this a matter of "we did if, now let's chill?"

With this kind of effort, the Celtics can give MIL a dog fight, and beat Tor. The question is if they can put in this kind of disciplined effort, which, the jury is still out on that one.

O.G. Anunoby is a tough iso matchup. I think it's a credit to Toronto that those possessions were unproductive last night.

Only a #2 on a title team if you have someone like Giannis or AD as the #1.

I don't want to asterisk their title or anything, but the Warriors lost multiple top 15 players during that series. Sheer luck.

There is no asterisk on their title. Injuries are part of the game. That’s why you want to finish off opponents in the PO fast to minimize risk of injury. They were lucky though. Siakam is a bit overrated imho. He’s good, but not that great yet. Maybe 2-3 years away from being great if he continues to improve. I just can’t believe the hype he’s been getting.
Yeah, I'd take Middleton over him.

I couldn't agree more. Last nights game is what I've been waiting to see for months now. Effort, effort, effort. This team didn't have it for a long time and we finally saw it last night. I just hope they don't sit back and coast now.

Rob's strengths and athleticism fit better with what we're trying to do on offense. Neither can shoot from deep, but I would prefer Timelord's rolls to the basket than Kanter's postups in terms of moving the defense and creating space/looks for others.

Agreed. One thing Kanter has over Rob is catching the pass disguised as a shot off the rim and putting it back in. But a rim-roller is so important.
