During the regular season the teams met three times, with Boston winning two of three matchups:

· Boston 112 – Miami 93

· Boston 109 – Miami 101

· Miami 112 – Boston 106

The first game came in early-December. Boston used a huge second quarter and 18 Miami turnovers to win in a blowout. The Celtics were without Gordon Hayward, but Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker combined for 78 points in the victory. Jimmy Butler led the way for the Heat with 37 points.

The second matchup was in late-January. The Celtics got 29 points from Gordon Hayward, 25 points from Jaylen Brown (Boston was without Jayson Tatum) and used stifling defense to hold the Heat to 37% shooting overall and 9-of-37 from behind the arc. Free throws kept Miami in the game, as Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic combined to go 20-of-23 at the charity stripe.

The final contest took place in the bubble. The Heat were without Jimmy Butler, but never trailed in beating the Celtics. Five Miami players were in double-figures in points, led by 62 combined points from Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson and Goran Dragic. The Heat hit 15 three-pointers, and took advantage of 16 Celtics turnovers.

Mia's defense is really good, but after Toronto's defense for 7 games its gonna feel SO much easier.

Beat the Heat! Their defense is not at Toronto's level, but they've been stepping it up in the playoffs. Spo will no doubt try to see what worked for Nurse on us, so Kemba and our offense need to work on some new tricks. Maybe we'll see Hayward at some point.

It'll be nice if Hayward can get in there.
We would have likely swept the Raptors, if he was able to play that Series.

We have a legit shot at going to the finals. The only team I thought we couldn't beat isn't even in the playoffs anymore....LET'S DO THIS!!!!

I can't even contemplate this right now. Players need a few days to rest. Fans need a few days to unwind, too.

Kemba survived his first true trial-by-fire in the NBA. He'll do some soul searching, and things will slow down for him in the next round.

Gordo's getting stronger every day.

The youths are learning what it takes.

All I'll say is don't underestimate Miami. This won't be easy.

Though, we're gonna win, obviously.

Hopefully Jaylen's groin or hamstring issue is fine by then. That split didn't look good. The league needs to be better at court maintenance. Never saw so many players slip like they have in the bubble.

I'm not sure he will play in this series at all.

The Heat have a dog in Butler and they are loaded with shooters, ranging from Robinson to Herro to our old friend KO. Just like I said going into the Raptors series: this is going to be really, really tough without Hayward.

Now, luckily, Miami's defense is not on the same level as Toronto's. However, the Raptors have Butler closing games.

If we had Hayward, I would feel very confident. Without him, I still think the Celtics win, but I am not nearly as bullish on them.

I felt a lot more nervous about Toronto a week ago. Nothing has changed.

Another TOUGH TOUGH series.

But one this is for sure.

1) The game won't be uglier than dog ****.

2) We won't have **** annoying Raptor fans complaining about the refs, the players, the announcers, hatred for their country, lack of respect for having a team that won a championship (which isn't there this year), ect ect ect

Both us and the Heat have been here before. Both our fans know we're more 2nd round level teams than championship teams. Both of us know to just enjoy the moment and we have young players on the rise and some of the best coaches and front offices in the league.

Also Jimmy Butler may be my favorite player in the NBA today. He's Marcus Smart + shooting and playmaking.
