We lost two double-digit leads in this game. I'd say we choked this one away, though you gotta give the Heat credit too. Those guys are super resilient.

14 point lead to start the 4th

6 point lead with 3:33 to go

Then Tatum produced nothing for the final 2 minutes and all of OT and got boy'd by Butler for an AND1 while getting boy'd by Bam who didn't even have to jump till long after Tatum did because Tatum doesn't have hops like that and he should know that more than anyone.

That was about as BIG of a choke job as it gets boys. Without just you know throwing the ball away to the other team over and over.

6 pts is two possessions. If that's a big choke job to you, good luck enjoying the NBA.

We gonna ignore the 13 point blown 4th quarter lead?

Celtics blew over a 10 point lead twice in this game.

Yeah I guess it's a choke then. I dunno, just missed shots, I don't think they played poorly at the end besides Tatum always takes the worst **** shots for no reason, but that's an every quarter thing and not a choke thing to me.

Poorly may be strong but they did give up back to back 3s to end the 4th. They did that and frankly if Smart didnt have the best IQ in the nba we lose in regulation anyway.

Y'all have no idea you're on the Celtics board.

That last post wouldn't even fly on the General board for baiting.

Might want to edit it and remove it. I just have to assume you're not looking to get suspended during the ECF up 1-0 .Best time to be on RealGm.

Trying to dunk on Bam is the right play?

I dont think so. He had 4 seconds to make that work while getting Bam in the air but he doesnt posses those kind of IQ points.

But you knew that when he jacked a 3 from 10 feet beyond the 3 point line to win the game.

Let's agree to disagree. I thought that was the right play. If that hadn't been blocked you would be singing a different tune.

Nothing about my tune will change. Kemba is playing like ass, has been since the second round and Stevens has adjusted to that worst than Doc rivers.

This game never felt like it wasnt Bostons. Until it came down to big boy minutes and crunch time and we dont have those players.

We are still talking about whether that dunk by Tatum was the right play are we not?

We are more talented than Miami but Spoelstra is an incredible coach and Miami will never go away. We blew game 1 when we should have won.

The refs bailed you out in the 4th at the beginning. We were better but couldn't close. If Hayward is back, good luck. Otherwise, congrats.

The dunk attempt was a 10x better play than the one to end regulation. He should have gone inside there.

Right thing to do is never telegraphing exactly what you're doing to a shot blocker. Sorry. It was a classic young and dumb maneuver. It's okay though, plays like that are exactly what teaches a young person to be less dumb in the future.

Stevens needs to learn how to run a better offense or get his players to listen. That was brutal to watch from a coaching point of view. How about move the ball...move your ass...make cuts...set picks? No, lets pound pound pound, shoot.

i don't mind those kind of shots every now and then if it's the 1rst or 2nd quarter but inside 2 minutes in crunch time? c'mon man, those types of decisions can be the difference between winning and losing. aim for a better shot in that possession.

Yeah that's fair. I really hated the turnaround fadeaway by Tatum with about a minute left, but I've hated every single one he's ever taken. The deep three I'm good with, he can make that. The final shot, I'm good with. He can make that, and the most important thing is that you leave zeroes on the clock with that possession.

Wrong play by Tatum. He has to know who he is and what he's not. He can't dunk the ball like he's LeBron. He needs to take any of the infinite other wide open shot opportunities from that position that eliminates Bam's athletic advantage as a defender.

I hope half this board gets a good nights sleep.

Hope the team sleeps well and gets up some shots in a practice tomorrow. Run Miamis dedense and show our guys how to beat it.

But remember everyone, playoff turn to iso at end of games, almost always unless a blowout. So expect it. Tatum will get better at it.

I don’t know. Tie game....I’d want the high percentage shot there, not a long iso three.

Tatum was blocked and blocked rather enthusiastically and dramatically. It was very obviously the wrong play because the outcome was so decisive that the result was never in question.

He had bam committing to that block the entire way, 100%. Getting him in the air and humping into his body would of been his best option. Or using the backboard for a lay up even.

He ended both the 4th quarter and OT rather poorly. But whatever hes not the reason they lost.

Completely wrong.

Him going to the basket leaves him prone to getting stripped or worst committing an offensive foul.

He can hit that 3 and does with regularity but the most important thing to do in that game is to not LOSE the game trying to do too much. A decent shot to win the game with no chance for a turnover? Pure gold, at that point it's a shot or miss league and Tatum in clutch for about 7 minutes of clutch play was nothing but bricks tonight.
