Post-Game Notes: BOS 113, MIA 125 (2-4)

Post#1 » by GoCeltics123 » Mon Sep 28, 2020 2:09 am

I'm incredibly proud of this team. The Heat really might win the title. They are that good. What a buzzsaw they are.

What a great season it was. That last run killed us.

Jayson Tatum is a superstar. Jaylen Brown is a star. Kemba had a great first year. Theis overachieved. Hayward stunk this game but had a good season overall. Theis was a very good starting center out of nowhere. Grant was a surprise great role player. Kanter played his role pretty well. Timelord had a rough one injury-wise but looked better.

Bam is amazing.

Cs up. Loved this team. Gotta get the bench better in the offseason.

Celtics did fight back to make this a series but like I said in the post-game thread Friday this team isn't consistent enough to win this series and it shows.

Also anybody who thought the Celtics were not going to fall apart in the 4th is completely delusional or hasn't been watching this team. When the Celtics went up by six, then Miami called the timeout that was game set match.

I will say this though you can blame Ainge for the bench but ultimately this is all on the starters. How many games has this team lost in the 4th quarter with their starters because they couldn't execute or get stops?

For better or worse they're stuck with this team. Stevens, Brown and Walker just signed contracts, and you can probably add Tatum to that list. Hayward may opt out which could end up making this team worse.

It was nice having basketball over the summer but it's going to feel a little empty without basketball in the fall especially on Christmas.

Disappointing end to the season but I'm looking forward to somehow having 82 games next year. Board is likely going to slow down now until FA and the draft.

Miami earned it. Straight up.

Love this team. Love Celtics family. Wrung every second of enjoyment I could out of this season, that we almost never had in the first place.

Big offseason coming up. East remains wide open.

First off, I tip my hat to Miami. I gained a newfound respect for Jimmy Butler. Tyler Herro... holy crap.

Incredibly proud of this Celtics team. Tatum and Brown are going to make us very happy for years. Thank you.

EDIT: These playoffs helped me "discover" some really nice players in other teams. Bam Adebayo and OG Anunoby stand out.

Plus one on all the above. Easy to pot-shot these guys right now but they brought me some joy in a royally **** up year. Cheers to the team and to you all for a season that exceeded my expectations.

Hell of a season. Almost losing it altogether made me appreciate the highs and the low of the restart.

We'll get em next time.

Good season overall. Disappointing ending but we still took steps forward.

Ainge has a lot of work to do.

This is all on him now and he better deliver.

Tip my cap to Miami. They played out of their minds. I know y'all gonna meltdown. But I enjoyed the season with y'all.
I apologize for the things I have said in the past.

Will repeat what I said in the game thread:

I admit it, I was never that into the bubble. Only series that was cool was vs. the Raptors. That was a real one. Everything else I have seen has been completely meh.

The Heat are tough man. Those 4th quarter runs were impressive. Ainge needs to give us a better roster next season. Too many unplayable guys on the bench.

Feel bad Hayward missed the birth of his child for this. Will feel even worse if he did it and we end up trading him.

Loved to see JB's and JT's improvement this season and expect even greater things from them next year. They're our future and we're in good hands. It's now up to Ainge to give them some help. We've got a big decision to make on Hayward for a start.

Love ya'll. I know I'm a bit pessimist at times but this was a fun season.

Every offseason the past few have been the same old story. But in the end Ainge will do nothingx and even if he did, it will be a trainwreck like Kyrie and Kemba. This team needs a GM who can draft well and make moves when the time is right. Ainge has been a failure on both counts. Langford, Edwards etc are wasted picks that probably won't be resigned when their contracts are up.

Incoming overreactions.

I'm always cool after season enders..

They will fix this team somehow, I'm sure, it's going to happen.

Luckily season starts in January again.

See you next year guys.

The Heat deserved it more than the Celtics. I think in the end it came down to coaching. Spo is the better coach and their offensive schemes are way better than the Celtics. In the off season the Celtics will need better big men in order to go one up this year's playoffs performance. More veterans would help too.

Heat where better when it mattered. Celtics didn't know how to win close games the entire playoffs.

PATHETIC

From the ten minute mark, he went 2-4 with 7 points and a turnover.

The whole team unraveled.

Thank you.

I really can't recall any of those makes.

So much growth needed.

He also gets stripped driving against Crowder so easily.

We need to eliminate the ISO at the 3 when we're in the playoffs for him. If he does a side step 3 0.0% of the time from that move then it's worthless because he can't drive against a set D consistently.

So much for him to work on, but perhaps it's time for us to change the playbook for him and have his plays be exclusively pick and rolls like we did for IT.

(again this is moot in the regular season because the defenders won't try as hard and they'll let him ISO against Centers. This is playoffs specifically when the defense steps it up and exposes flaws)
