Overall point is well taken, but those numbers aren't quite right. You're looking at the '18-'19 season split across two teams. Actual full season games played:

'19-'20: 14
'18-'19: 56
'17-'18: 77
'16-'17: 80

Celtics can't even keep their healthy players on the court, what are they going to do with OPJ? I mean if they can't do anything else with the TPE and he costs like a fake second rounder, I'm down, but the floor is pretty low for him.

lol, lazy. Nice catch.

I also don't love the idea of using the TPE on a rental at the deadline. Unless it's a real put you over the top move. I'd rather get a guy we can have at least thru next season, or just use the lesser ones to shore up the bench and shoot for something with the main TPE in the summer.

For sure, it is a risk, but none of his injuries to me feel like they have sapped his skillset, and maybe it was just bad luck. I doubt you can trust him to play 70+ per year, but he was pretty durable the first five years of his career.

Can't wait for the next media pundit to call our start disappointing while we are on pace for a 55 win season on an 82 game schedule despite missing our All Star PG.

Time to start
PP
Smart
Brown
Tatum
Timelord

Those are the most impactful players we have right now. Play them early, get leads.

Teague
Thompson
Theis
Grant
Semi
Nesmith

All bench players

Smart needs to head back to the bench as soon as possible. I know people are huge on +/- on here and he has been negative 8 out 9 games this season.

Respect to the boys for making stands. Would like to see them call coach out sometimes, gotta be easier to call out Brad if you can call out the entire "system"

At the risk of being yelled at, this is just who he is. Smart isn't THAT good. He's a roleplayer, and I'm with you, that's where he belongs.

For all the crap given to the players and talking about loss of players, we all need to give more credit to the "kids," I think they said we are top 5 offense after last game (3rd?) and we were 7 before that IIRC. If that's true, that's great considering our lone healthy PG is a rookie and then Smaht is the only other pg-ish player (both standing tall). Tatum has really stepped up and JB too (turns aside)! Most people we play shouldn't have the ball longer than a quick shot or pass and we still manage! Good job young guys, always doing better than We give them credit for! Even Danny needs to up his belief in these guys and get a little bench help mid season (gotta give them more than 8 games because the bench has surprised)!

I want to +1 this and add that having positive role models in the community is valuable. My young son watched the game, but he also watched this statement and talked about it with me afterwards. These are his two favorite players, and I’m thankful and appreciative for who they are as people.

Fall seems to have terrible hands, and his awareness is not there yet.

i don’t know about the hands, but good awareness can be achieved through playing time and regular minutes. Especially for newbies like Tacko, they need to be in the regular rotation to gain confidence. If you play them every after 3-4 games, then they would just come in and look lost in there.

While I am encouraged by the play of our bench thus far, the reality is that our bench scoring is in the bottom third for all NBA teams so far. We are currently averaging 33 points/game from our bench. Only 4 teams are averaging less points from their bench. The next 10 teams above us are averaging 1-3 points more production from their benches. Not a lot, but clearly we need a bit more production from our bench to get to the middle of the pack at least. Perhaps we might get there after Kemba returns (Romeo too). Average bench points for all teams = 36.5

The Celtics are, at the moment, tied for the lead in the East, and half a game below the best record in the league over all.

Of course, the COVID stretch ahead casts doubt as to whether that will continue ...
