I don't think so. I think that Smart is comfortable coming off the Bench, or Starting.
He knows that he'll get Starter minutes, either way.

That's a quote from three years ago. Lots have changed since then. I personally think Smart wants an elevated role esp with Hayward gone now. He wouldn't be too thrilled if a rookie or sophomore starts ahead of him. Or a vet on the decline.
