You draft better than Danny Ainge—here's your chance to shine
Time to put your money where your mouth is
Ainge picked Aaron Nesmith at #14 and Payton Pritchard at #26. I have no idea who these guys are, but it looks like you know them well—otherwise you wouldn't have complained about the picks in the draft thread.
So here's your chance to look awesome in front of your fellow RealGM'ers, while making Danny Ainge look bad in the process.
Let us know who you would've drafted instead, both at #14 and at #26. You can only name one player per pick. Please don't name other players.
I will bookmark this thread and bump it every November 19 for the next couple of years. (Don't bother editing your post down the road—I'll screenshot everything so we can out the cheaters.)
Good luck!
EDIT: Reminder—the idea of this thread is to see down the road how you faired against Ainge. Therefore, don't post your picks for #30 (Danny didn't draft there) nor #47 (unless you would've drafted a stashable Euro).

I would have taken Hampton at 14 and Maledon at 26. And at 47 I would have taken Skylar Mays. And at 30 I would have taken Maledon again.

Due to the Covid-19 I actually mailed in my outrage over the the draft picks about 3 weeks ago. But jokes aside, having a sticky thread for outrage is a good idea. So much time is wasted. If you are pissed off this year, wouldn't it be nice to be able to just copy and paste your outrage post from last year?

Re: You're a RealGM and know better than Danny Ainge—your chance to shine
For a long time on the draft threads here Ive been saying Nesmith was one of the guys I wouldve taken at 14. So I really have no complaints at all with that pick, I wouldve done the exact same thing.
Ive seen a good amount of Pritchard, wouldnt have taken him with a 1st round pick, especially with the PGs that were still on the table. If you wanted a PG that could really shoot it, I wouldve gone with Terry. If you want one with more potential you had Theo. If youre looking for the ultimate competitor and IQ guy, you got Tre Jones. If youre looking for offensive versatility you got Nico. To stick with the rule of only naming one player. My bias would say Tre, but I would say Theo.
For awhile Ive been saying wing at 14 and PG with one of the later picks. So I wouldve definitely gone PG with 26, I just personally think there were better options is all. But again there is a reason these guys get paid to make these decisions and I dont haha.

I’m ok with Nesmith & Pritchard, but would definitely have gone Reed over Mader.
I also wouldn't have traded 30 for 2 undersized pgs to be drafted with future late 2nds. My full list:
14: RJ Hampton
26: Tyler Bey
30: Robert Woodard III
47: Paul Reed

14 - Precious
26 - Dez Bane
30 - Tyrell Terry or Xavier Tillman
47 - Markus Howard
I don't mind Nesmith, I don't really know what to make of him, I can trust Danny here, but I'm not sold on him becoming more valuable than a guy like Terrence Ross. Whereas I feel Bane is pretty much a lock to give you what Duncan Robinson would give you, more or less, possibly from day one.
At 30, I feel like Tyrell Terry would have provided great long-term upside, i.e. could have been a budding star by the very end of his rookie deal, or Tillman could have given us a cheap option to start at center. I was disappointed to see us essentially waste that pick.

Can't think of a reason why they didn't pick Theo Maledon at #26 or #30.
Nesmith at #14 is fine.
Yam Madar at #47 over Joe or Reed... well, he probably was the best available option as a draft & stash, and he might or might not end on the Celtics roster. Not a big deal.
But Pritchard over Maledon, IMO, is not a good decision.

14-Tyrell Terry- I know, I know, but just being real. Nesmith would have been my 2nd choice. I would have happily flipped any of the picks to move up 2 spots for Haliburton though.
26-Xavier Tillman
30-Isaiah Joe (I know he was there at 47, but I didn't know that)
47-Nate Hinton if I have to. We didn't have spots so a stash is fine. I would have tried to trade it for a future 2nd.
I'm sure this will turn out great

Re: You're a RealGM and know better than Danny Ainge—here's your chance to shine
14 Nesmith was my tenth best prospect so not mad also best shooter and great d.
26 Pritchard was my 31st ranked player reached would ave drafted oturu.
30th only thing I got right was trade for 2 second rounders. So I'll take it
47th wtf at least try to act like we need a big Paul Reed here Sam Merrill here karim bane here give me anyone but a damn 6'3 guy that reminds me of joesph Cesar who never came over which also probably be the case with yam taters

I would've traded all four picks + Kemba for Steph Curry. Bob Myers got a good laugh out of it and said no.
So *shrug* on who all these guys are except I wish we added more size (not necessarily centers) to the roster. We were already the tiniest playoff team last season. Somehow got tinier.

I wish I even knew enough about these college kids to make some snarky comments. I don't. All I know is there are a few new Celtics tonight, and I'm pulling for them.

14 - Traded either back or out to get a future 1st round pick
26 - Bane
30 - Oturo
47 - Cassius Stanley (don't mind the Mader pick though if stash pick was inevitable)
I don't mind the picks made. I considered Pritchard an option late 1st. Would have preferred Terry if they were going 3pt shooting point guard. Though Pritchard has bulk in his favor. I'm mostly irked at Ainge only getting 2 second rd picks for a prospect like Bane.

Thanks Brad for answering my ad,

But after KP, your C play? You broke my heart Fredo.

Heat taking Precious is no surprise, another great pick for them. Would have grabbed him and stayed with Bane, who knows though.....

I am no expert but this is who I would have picked at each position due to availability.
14: Precious Achiuwa
26: Udoka Azubuike
30: Théo Maledon
47: Isaiah Joe
