Ainge has BEEN bad. Imagine if he didn't get a clueless Russian owner to hand him that Nets haul? There'd have been no Jaylen and no Tatum. He's not good folks. Of course he needs to go. He's always been a disastrous drafter but now even his trades have fallen off. We're a treadmill team that might very well lose Tatum because of his ineptitude. But as long as he has fans defending him and an owner happy to fill sits and not delve into the luxury tax he's seemingly here for life.
You forgot "Tried to trade 4 future first round picks (including one of the Nets' picks) for Justise Winslow and was only saved from disaster because Michael Jordan said no."

The player we got for Hayward instead of Turner is so much better.

I still can't believe he didn't draft Nikola Jokic at pick 17. Inexcusable.

Re: Fire Ainge: Thanks Danny, but it's time to go
I've generally had no real issues with Ainge to date. Yes he misses some draft picks and the roster could always be tweaked better here or there.
Overplaying his hand with this Hayward debacle though is a Class A **** up. Zero debate, he extinguished massive value by getting greedy. Instead of two quality vets for the rotation at fair cap numbers that could easily fit and/or be flipped for other pieces, we got nothing. AND we lost out on a huge number of FAs out there who could have helped us because this Hayward saga dragged out so long.

Retro actively going back and picking the random guys who massively outperform their draft position, or no one thought would become what they did, is completely disingenuous. You need to apply that same logic to the other 29 teams who didn't draft those players then also.

I agree although the Celtics could definitely stand to improve drafting outside of the lotto.

Re: Fire Ainge: Thanks Danny, but it's time to go
this thread is a total Joke. People just need a few years of a really bad GM to appreciate a good one. Maybe we should bring Wallace and Pitino back?
Ainge is still one of the best. Glad he didnt overpay for Al last year and didnt overpay for Hayward this year.
Sorry to see Hayward go for nothing but we got back what we originally gave up for him to begin with...NOTHING.

This Really Sucks!!!
Word is, that Hayward was all ready to take the $100/4yr deal with Indiana.
But Danny haggled over the return. Not agreeing to Turner and McDermott in a S&T.
Now Hayward is gone. And we got zilch.
Danny Screwed it Up!!!

I’m just frustrated because Ainge has literally done nothing besides a very minor trade that brought us back nothing but A little cap flexibility in which he has yet to use
