Well, at least they were smart to release only the first half of the schedule. And people aren’t sitting at home with tickets that may or may not ever prove useful.

First thing is first - fire whoever the hell is in charge of the Washington Wizards’ testing. Seems like whoever they play ends up having to sit someone afterwards. Dude reading the results is probably doing it ass-backwards. Lol

Seriously though - mini-bubbles is the best compromise, IMO. And FWIW, I think that while the players objected to being trapped in a bubble again, I also think that owners were more than willing to along without the bubble since it means they don’t have to foot the bill from Disneyworld. Probably cheaper to fly everyone around from city to city, rather than paying for hotel and facilities in Florida.

I think the candid worry with any shutdowns is if you give players a week off, human nature is such that some won't actually quarantine and that may result in MORE cases than if you keep pressing on with the season.

No option for going the full bubble route like last season? That's what I would do. Or cancel the season but yeah, that's not happening.

****, I don't know. 3 ECFs in the last 4 years and this team has never really felt like a contender to me. I don't know where to go from here.

Per WT:

The NBA and NBPA will also meet on Monday to discuss modifying the league's Health and Safety Protocols during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

We'll see what comes of this.

This is pretty ridiculous. You can't find another million for a couple of 2-way guys? How about we just take part of the Golden State Oubre payment to pay for 60 more "2 way" players.

Anyone know for sure how many Celtics players have COVID apart from Tatum?

This is a bunch of hot air as far as I’m concerned. It’s the games themselves where guys are sucking air, breathing heavy, inches away from each other, sweating all over each other, etc. I mean come on....

I also have a hunch that 20 year olds who see each other every day for months on end feel pretty comfortable around each other without a mask. They are just gonna do what they need to in order to not lose any money.

I’m not really a fan of adding extra 2 way players and thinking that’s gonna fix it. It may mean less games are postponed or missed but the product is gonna suck.

We're at 4 now, and five if we miss Wed. Game.

increase it to 20 man rosters.... Need to keep the wheels turning right now. Vaccines are out and over half the population have had the virus. Keep fighting through this! Go C's

ride it out a bit longer and see how it goes. If they end up having to postpone a lot of games then take a short break with an option to just resume or go into a bubble or bubbles.

The thing is, it's not like canceling games suddenly keeps these guys from catching it. They are young and in great health putting them in the group that is least likely to get really sick or die from it. And hey know it. And they are rich. So if yo cancel the games, they just have more time to go out. So it's not really so cut and dry.

Winter's got to be the worst season for Covid as more people are cooped up indoors and the vaccines are coming out. I bet the NBA just hopes and prays they can get through the winter. If not a small break and yeah maybe a few bubbles

Kind of unrelated, but the games in FL had some fans, anyone know how that works? Who were those fans? How did they get tickets?

The thing I don't get is why they can't get the vaccine out quicker. It's got to just be a money issue right? The NBA would stand to lose a ton of money by canceling games too. I wonder if there isn't some way to throw money at the problem. Before someone flames away, Im not trying to stir anything up, I'm really just wondering aloud and hoping someone might know more than me and lend some incite. I get that even if possible the optics might looks bad- NBA players getting it before Grandma. But again maybe money could solve this too. The NBA let stadiums be used as voter registration places before right? Maybe they could spend some money to set up vaccination sites for the general public too. That would turn the bad optics into good optics. the NBA Cares. Currently it seems like the states get the vaccines but don't have the money to et it out to everyone, maybe some deals could be made. America's also not the only place with vaccines so maybe some international deals could be made. Again, not trying to start a fight. I don't need the personal attacks again from a retired mod.

3 Postponed Celtics games.
What is Silver and the NBA, and NBPA for that matter, waiting for?

At this rate the Boston Celtics will still play rescheduled regular season games in August even after the NBA Finals are done.

Some weird new protocols to be imposed. They forgot the part where all these players touch the same ball then touch their faces while playing.
