Forget buyouts. Would rather give minutes to young players than slobs that don't move the needle.
No Drummond, no matter what.

I heard on a pod the last buyout candidates to get 100 minutes in the playoffs were like peja in 2011 with the mavs, pj brown on the 08 Celtics and 1 more buy more recently but he’s names drawing a blank in my head right now

True but someone like Drummond is a good/great fit for many teams. Someone who can get 20/10 isn’t a random buy out. LMA on Portland would also get some solid minutes.

Re: Potential Buyout Guys
We have to see what Danny wants to do. This is about where Danny would bench Pierce with an injury and start tanking for the draft. Doc was fine with that. Doubt Brad is.
Almost all the guys mentioned are an upgrade over the vast majority of our bench. Once Carsen Edwards leaves his future is with a team like Xinjiang Flying Tigers. Javonte may go to the G-League and see if someone might invite him to training camp. Semi is at best Brian Scalabrine. He knows the rotations and you can plug him in if there is a pinch. He can even have a good game every once in awhile. But if he is an integral part of your rotation you are doing something wrong.
I heard Romeo Langford is training with Pervis Ellison now.
If we waive and sign a few cuts we might be serious in trying to win a round in the playoffs. If not I have a feeling there might be two players whose first names begin with J who might have injuries they want to rehab from.

It depends. Is the player looking for a ring or an audition?

Celts could use a true big for the playoffs.
TT, Theis, RWill are all 6'10 or less.
A vet 7+ footer that can still move the feet and compete.
Not necessarily a shooter and definitely not a slug.
We need real size and toughness in the paint.

Perhaps because, a washed up LMA is still much better than Meyers Leonard.

Not to nitpick, but I do believe not one of them is a tad over 6'9".

Re: Potential Buyout Guys
Boogie Cousins. Hear me out.......
First we'd have to luck out that he'd even want to come here. Maybe LAL and Nets choose Drummond and LMA. So then we have LAC, Miami and a few others probably ahead of us in the buyout market.
Why not just tell him he can start and we will look to him to score a lot. Give it a shot for 10-15 games and just bench him if it doesn't work and cut him if he causes trouble or is unhappy being benched.
If it did work out we'd have a 4th scoring option. Come playoffs Kemba might disappear and teams can really focus in on the Jays. Having a center who is a threat to go off for 30 on any given night should make defending us a lot harder to plan for.
Seems like a why the hell not move to me. Things aren't really going our way anyways. Not a ton of chemistry to risk ruining. The team doesn't have the talent to win a title. No trade mentioned puts us on the Nets and LAL level of talent on paper. If DMC can magicly go back to the old DMC we might. 5-10% chance that happens but why the hell not try?

He might be done. He is a mid-30s shooting guard who has a lot of miles on him. You are allowed to get old.
Bring Him in ? Yes. Just not sure how much left in the tank.

Redick might be nearly toast, but I bet he could give a team 10 minutes in a close game that swings the balance. But probably on a team with players who can pass the ball is where he'll find himself.

Even the GM is shooting midrange. It's a systemic issue.
