Had to head out after the Gobert illegal screen on Smart, how'd the last two minutes go down

Lol...starters were not the issue. The bench is terrible.

Bruh... Jazz aren't the measuring stick. They will fold against Lakers/Clippers.

The jazz are so much better than us.

We can’t beat those guys at all. Look at the 3 point line.

So it's kind of telling how far the Celtics are from actual contenders.

You might have a point there.
Kemba is not scoring like he used to.

Celtics need a point guard that compliments and brings out the best in Jayson and Jaylen. Kemba is not it

No he is clearly top 5..

that line-up of Teague/PP + Kemba with Grant Williams +Theis to start the 4th was brilliant. Utah got lucky scoring 14 points in a row. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

2 point lead was 10 in minutes.

Bench is trash folks.

We have 7 players on this team. Tatum, Brown, Walker, smart, Williams, Theis, Thompson.

Everyone else is replacement level G League guys.

Teague, Semi, and PP played a combined 41 minutes and didn’t have one basket......G Williams had one. Still not getting the Nesmith benching.

Donovan Mitchell the last 5 minutes of close games has a 38% TS, 30% in the last 3 minutes

Tatum in the last 5 minutes of close games has a 62% TS, and 65% in the last 3 minutes.

The issue is Tatum is the only guy who can do anything for us late in games.

He hit two open threes at the end of the game BFD but they really won in spite of donavan. He was a net negative and couldn’t defend anyone and got bailed out by the refs. He’s been at best the fourth best player on their team maybe fifth.

Jazz are a top 5 team in nba and best regular season team right now. They are a measuring stick. I dont care if they are THE measuring stick.

People really expect Tatum to score every clutch basket like he’s prime Jordan at his age. There’s a lot of stars out there who are way less efficient than JT in the closing minutes. Everyone else on the Celtics is a different story

It’s crazy, he’s been awesome in crunch time this season. It’s not his fault Kemba has something like a 35% TS in the clutch, it’s not his fault Jaylen has a 50% TS in the clutch.

I think Kemba/Jaylen will improve as the year goes on, but they struggle getting their shots off against keyed in defenses late in close games.

The team sucks in close games. I expect our All Star players to close games down the stretch when we need them. It was an issue last season too. The Jays and Kemba can’t disappear like that when is a one point possession.

the thing is one solid player addition which stops Teague GW and/or Semi from playing gives us so much more IMO. addition by subtraction.

Fellowship of the Miserable, indeed.

If the other team scores more points by the end, it's not "our best game in months".

Weren't playing the Cavs tonight.

It's nice to see some improvements with the core together, and yeah, Brad can come out and say "Team defense was better and we found the open man", but this team is an 0-for against Nets, 76ers, Lakers and Jazz.

Our best game will need to be a statement game against a good team, a W in the column, as opposed to "hanging by a thread over .500 team" type of game.
Hey you! Can we come together?

show me the stats with JB defending Mitchell. I'm waiting for this one. He had 21pts total and 6 were his 2 threes with smart on him to end it. So 15pts in around 30 minutes before he hit those 3s.

There is no one on the bench that you can count on to get a basket. You guys either need a legit 3rd star so Brad can always have 2 stars out at the same time. Or a quicker easier fix would be to get a guy on the bench who is there just to get buckets. No one on that bench checks into the game with the mindset that he can go and score.

How can they fold against the clippers while they’re too busy folding?

Kemba and Jaylen have absolutely sucked in crunch time, I agree. I don’t think lumping Tatum in there is correct, as he’s been excellent in those situations. Can only do so much though, when everyone else struggles to hit shots.
