We need to see Smart and Lowry playing together.

As good as utah is they are still not even contenders. LA or Brooklyn would beat him in six games tops.

Oh come on. That's nonsense and you know it.

131 committed with 11 guys. What do you expect us to do? Were virtually in the tax once will add the rest of the bodies. Not a lot of flexibility.

I get what you’re saying mate, but at the same time we’ve made the ECF 3 out of the last 4 years... I totally agree that we need roster moves and Brad needs to tweak the system but it’s not all doom and gloom.

5-2 in our last 7 while being relatively healthy since the 8-3 start with the 2 losses coming against the two best teams in the league.

(Obviously Brooklyn is way ahead)

ECF run 1: Lead by IT and Al. IT broke down. We went and signed Hayward and traded for Kyrie. Things to look forward to.
ECF run 2: Lead by Al and the Jays. We returned a healthy Kyrie and Hayward. Things to look forward to.
ECF run 3: Led by the Jays and Kemba. We let Hayward walk for nothing.. Kemba’s knee broke down. Less and less to look forward to.

Yeah I get it, I’ll have to see you what we do in the offseason but Ainge is def on the hot seat for the first time properly.

No hes not. And thats the problem.

Maybe he should try not getting lost on defense multiple times a quarter.

His team defense and Tatum’s mid range shots will be the death of me. Far from the biggest issues on this team obviously, but Jesus ******* Christ.

Even the Jays aren't blameless.

A big reason for the lack of assists is them stopping the ball

They desperately need another guy who can hit shots late in games. Danny will say Romeo coming back will keep guys fresher for late in the games though, no worries y’all.

look at the stats, he needs to get a hell of a lot better!

Stevens should go coach IU. Can't see Ainge giving him a roster that can win it all.

I'd expect fully half of Kemba/Smart/Nesmith/Romeo/Semi/Edwards/Waters/GWilliams/Teague/TT to be gone by next year.

I'm expecting big changes before next season.

the day we signed Kemba to that awful contract I knew we'd spin our wheels until he left. It is what it is. It's likely going to cost us Tatum if Danny doesn't do whatever he has to to get him off the team. I'd prefer he did it asap so we can absorb the bad expiring (hopefully) contract we'd need to take back thus giving us a chance next season with a fresh slate.

Youre more optimistic than me. I’d bet 70% of them stick around. Waters is clearly gone. Semi is a UFA and will run. Teague expires. The rest will stay.

The guy we needed to trade for is on the nets now - essentially making any move we make irrelevant for 2 season but y’all know “10 year windows”

This is not a critical post, it’s just going over what it is.

My concern with him late in games is I don’t think his half court offense is good enough to be a legit 2nd option as of now. This year his TS in the last 5 minutes of close games is 50.5%, and usually late in games it’s more ISO offense when defenses key in on you. This year he’s in the 31st percentile when he goes ISO, last year it wasn’t much better. He is not a good player when it’s him going 1 on 1, he’s still at his best as a catch and shoot guy, attacking mismatches, and getting out in transition.

His offense isn’t really a concern of mine, he tries his hardest out there, I just don’t think his game is equipped to handle that, at least as of now. His defense drives me crazy though, it’s a legitimate issue.

To me this just looks like what the offense is. Get a screen, find daylight and take the shot, hopefully in a mismatch. They all do it all game. Maybe you get one or two passes that actually move the defense but otherwise it is an iso-based offense. The only passing synergy on the roster is between Kemba and Theis, otherwise the only easy looks Brown and Tatum are getting are whatever they can create for themselves. There’s just no movement.

I blame the players, coach, GM, everyone. They spend most of every game with 1-2 players on the floor who have no offensive talent besides occasionally hitting only the most open of outside shots.

He’d ruin our ball movement heavy offense. Tatum would never want to play with him.

Still hurts that Danny wouldn’t make the move. I maintain that we could have kept Smart.

Kemba/Smart/Harden/Tatum/Theis would be infinitely better than this. Harden is that much better than Jaylen, and will be for the foreseeable future.
