Teague came around for sure tonight. Really good use of his size on the blocks, handle on penetration, and shot when given space. Nesmith still showing his perimeter shot and dribble drive capabilities. And again, good hustle and running the floor.

Overall I thought the ball movement was pretty good. Lot of unselfish passing and open looks. Thought we should've won this game if we played with urgency for 48 minutes.

We need to stop with all the help defense. Just stay home and be there when the ball swings around, especially when Timelord is in the paint.

I'm ready to fight over smart but I cant fight! He had his ups and downs but he wasn't the only one!! Critic him but don't forget about JB and Theis!! This may have been Theis' worst night (mainly on D). JB can't defend me atm.

Late game yips lol. it'd be nice if Stevens ran plays for Nesmith to get open looks in tight ball games. He's got to mix it up. Opponents really keying in on our schemes in tight games.

I only saw half the game so I won't have detailed comments on the game...but just looking at stat sheet, Celtics +6 with Marcus Smart on the court and -6 without him on the court.

Again I only watched around half the game but that was more than enough of it to see the Celtics didn't lose the game on offense or because Marcus Smart lost them the game but they lost it on defense which isn't too surprising given back to back games and Celtics defense just not being as good this year.

Barring injury or a trade for the future that has the Celtics take a few steps back, Celtics still should finish at least a few games above .500 and will probably be seeded somewhere between 4 to 6 in the EC. Charlotte may have won today but they should fall back now that Ball is probably out for the season.

Despite being someone that likes both Smart and Brown, I would trade both since this team needs to find that special player that truly puts Tatum in that #2 role.

For those older Celtics fans like me, this is not a scenario of trade Rick Robey for Dennis Johnson and expect to win a title or seriously contend for one. This team needs the next Bill Russell, Larry Bird or Kevin Garnett.

Oh, you know what I meant. Sad part is, they all played great. We just not that good, and especially not without Tatum and Kemba.

We had this game though. We got away from playing well, the Grizz got confident, and it slipped away. Should've won this one. Could've been over early if we played with last night's urgency. Too much complacency, too many lulls.

People gloss over it, but playing that shorthanded often results in gassing down the stretch. Especially in a hard-fought OT game or in the playoffs. Also missing 43ppg tonight, and the only two players that can legitimately be called closers. Really not surprising IMO. I think the most depressing part for me is that they actually tried and played well. Just dumber than a box of rocks as a team, and not that skilled tonight.

On the bright side, at least we're not the Raptors, who lost to a Rockets team that had lost 20 straight games. Hate to be them right now, they're just freefalling lol

Not to make excuses, but a lot of those shots in the paint from the Grizzlies were floaters, which are their forte. Still, that should be on the scouting report and the game plan. Valuncunias pounding the boards highlights the need of a player with bulk. Theis is just being tossed like a rag doll and Rob can only recover on so many bumps.

Raptors have a long rebuild ahead of them, I believe they will just be trying to trade off several of the players they have for as much as they can get. There was all that speculation that they were trying to get Giannis via FA since their GM supposedly is a little friendly with him but without a move like that there is no quick fixes in Toronto right now.

Smart even with his issues tonight, was still the least of our problems.

I have said this before last year even started. Brad loves Theis even when it is clear as shet he is not better than RW. The fact that RW was our 3rd string barely playing center in the playoffs last year tells it all. And NO, there wasn't a minute restriction.

And posters still come up and defend Brad with stuff like RW misses too many rotations or the best one yet, "Brad sees them everyday in practice"

it's like even with overwhelming game evidence, Brad doesn't change.

Agreed, and he's doing it with Nesmith. Edwards should've had some run tonight too. These are the games to play these guys.

COVID really screwed them. They basically have no home floor for the whole season, I can only imagine how tough that is for the players on top of all the injuries and COVID-related absences they've had. Too bad for Raps fans

Ya definitely not surprising but a winnable game the way the Grizz were playing. A win on the 2nd of a back to back w/o Tatum and Kemba would've really helped our confidence. Shame to waste tonight's effort and execution on offense by not playing hard, focused defense for 48 minutes. You this could've been a good game to play Tacko for a couple of meaningful stints to mix it up and man the paint. But Stevens would rather play with 4 than take swings with the 7'7"" center.

2 big lineups is bad, but is it worse than being forced to play Ojeleye 34 freaking minutes?

How about stop playing 2 little guards together, stop playing a 6'8 player in Theis at center against starters. Little guards, with a little PF Grant Williams with a little center equals success?? I don't think so..

Exactly this!
We are one of the smallest, if not the smallest team in the league. Two undersized bigs that play together, that can’t defend the rim and can’t really score on their own. Our wing defenders are getting overrated, including Smart. Morant and Brooks clowned Smart several times one on one. Same thing with Brown. We need a rim protector in the middle other than Rob. Rob is too unreliable with his minutes restrictions.

Our defense is unexplainably bad. They score what 80 points in the paint?

I am huge Smart fan but today in crunch time he was brutal. One bad decision after another.

Bucks will kill us in the next game...
