I am personally elated that Robert Williams is finally our center.

There was no future for Theis here. Timelord is the future and his development is far more important.

It is fine to say dumping Theis for another expiring was not a good move

They rarely go into the tax. They consistently avoid it. If you want to defend multi billionaires, then you go ahead and die on that hill.

Well Kornet and Wagner are both tall and both expiring. I hate losing Theis, but would hate paying the repeater tax even more.

Why bring in Fournier then? You still have Kemba, Smart, Fournier, Brown, Tatum who are all going to get big minutes.

Doesn't make sense.

Same straddling of trying to win but not really while also loading up on young guys without really getting them PT.

Sucks that Theis went to a bad team. My ideal trade this morning was Theis to the lakers for their first. Let hit get a ring and play on a good team- he deserves it. Class act, good teammate, never got a break from the refs.

And Thies picked up his 5th foul waving goodbye.

Part of his legacy is how much refs disrespected him.

Just logged in after a long/distracting day at work. How uninspiring. I cannot say whether a Vucevic deal could have happened for us/been on the table but to see him go and us get Fournier (who I rate btw, as a bench player) and not Gordon... and then dump Theis and Green (not a world beater but genuine slasher who was a nice to have on a low salary imo) for Mo Wagner....

What the hell is this? Where are we going? This has to be the beginning of the end for Ainge. Shambolic.

The window is closed ladies and gents.

Bad team? Chicago is better than us now.

I do think Fournier stays in Boston beyond this season, possibly as Smart insurance once Marcus leaves to get paid.

Kornet’s percentages, Jesus. So much for Danny Ainge needing to win every trade

Obviously they have a directive from ownership to duck the tax because anyone with a brain sees that it makes sense to. You don't want to end up in repeater rate taxes in '22-23 where a vet min player ends up costing you lie $6M after tax. A tax payers MLE player costs you like $15M. Smart will be a FA that offseason.

They wanted to improve the team this year so they did that with Fournier. Moving Theis is part of the sacrifice for that. You can't pull the Theis deal out of that context.

Fournier is the type of player we need. Scorer, shooter with size. Hope he resigns.

We got rid of Theis and got more of a stretch 5. Meh. Not a huge fan. But this opens up minutes for Rob.

To be clear, you got rid of Theis for a guy that will sit on the bench. Mo is not a stretch 5, he is a 30% career 3pt shooter. Mo struggled to get consistent minutes on a horrible Washington team for a reason. If Mo sees consistent playing time for you guys, thats really bad news, that means things have gotten very ugly and desperate.
