Stevens is the biggest thing that would hold this team back. Let’s see what he does when TT comes back.

Tatum was great, but this was Rob's coming out party. If ever there should be a tie, I vote now!!

Drummond might be in Boston before TT

Remember when we had double big starting lineups?

In terms of the most impactful player on the court for us I just thought it was Timelord, but I'm giving the cigar to JT.

Kudos to Ainge by doing what was unpopular to many by trading Theis and forcing Brad's hand.

Easily the most feel good win of the season and a much better locker room for Evan to make his transition.

Brad Stevens is an absolute moron. He’s going back to TT in the starting 5 when Thompson clears protocol

Yup i agree. Stevens would be a fool if he starts TT again. No contender would ever start TT in their team.

yeah, but would you bet your paycheck Stevens wouldn't start TT? I wouldn't. and that has me sick just thinking about how that may actually happen.

Celtics are undefeated in the Luke Kornet Era. Let that sink in for a bit.

The Rockets just had an all time tank job. Were up 101-85 over the wolves with 7:31 to play. Lost 107-101. 22-0 run to close out the game. Thats incredible.

The good:

Well...we WON!! That's pretty awesome for starters. Real talk, we needed this win in the worst way. This team was starting to hang their head a bit. And tonight they came out and really imposed their will against a REALLY GOOD team. I haven't seen them play like this in ages. And the catalyst was Rob Williams. My god, how good was he. His length is such a problem for opposing teams. Not just with his ability to block shots but his ability to play passing lanes in space and get deflections was huge. He even guards Giannis on a drive and closed him out with a block. It was beautiful. On offense, his ability to hit cutters from the top of the key just adds a needed dimension to this offense. But this was a COMPLETE team win. Tatum was outstanding with 34/6/7. This was VINTAGE 2x All-Star Tatum tonight. He gets the VC tonight. Smart shook off some bad shooting games to score 23 including 7-10 from 3. Kemba pitched in a solid 21/6. 22 3's tonight on 47 attempts. The attempts is the important number. That's where we need to be. The defense for the vast majority of this game was outstanding. Guys were on a string. Guys were getting into people's airspace and closing out with intent. This is the team we saw last year. I'm excited about adding Fournier to this mix and seeing his offense and floor-spacing ability added to this group. Moe even came off the bench after not expecting to and hit a 3. I can't remember the last time I've seen us get off to that good a start.

The bad:

You could tell that the starters are not used to playing with Rob early in games. They had to have missed him on the roll about 47 times. He was open for the lob like ALL night. Jaylen (no surprise) was guilty of this all night. Hopefully that changes. The Bucks surprisingly gave up earlier than I expected because they have a B2B but the extended garbage time got a little tenuous. They were a Sam Merrill 3 away from the game getting a little interesting in the last couple of minutes but it was fine.
We should see Fournier tomorrow and I can't wait to see how all this works. Hopefully with Rob injected into this lineup and Fournier added in this will be the bolt of lightning this team needs.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

I don't know many NBA rookies, but I have known dozens of college freshmen. The concept will always be the same. Inconsistent play, sometimes no play, and when they play, little to no touches. Certainly not where they may feel comfortable with the ball will always lead to players struggling to look good early on. When coaches and teammates play them and pass to them on a regular basis, they develop.

If you never played real ball, you might not realize how hard it is to get going under those circumstances. I mean we have a 38 million guard who shoots airballs after 10 years in the NBA. But a rookie doesn't score on a few shots ??? :o :-?

No doubt—didn’t mean it in that negative a way. We have seen plenty of guys come through who needed some time for the game to slow down and we’re suddenly making an impact (TL and Rozier to name a couple).

He has shown far more effort than I ever saw from James Young, and seems eager.

Timelord

I know we talk about Tatum but it will be him and Timelord that brings us 18 if he stays healthy. And considering we’ve been cursed since KG went down I ain’t holding my breath for that but I’ll always remain hopeful.

I liked Wagner out there. He brings the energy if nothing else. I would think given more time in the system he could carve out a rotational role here.

Voted timelord.

Don’t get the hate on Tacko. He’s young and was trying to hold his own against one of the bigger better teams and Giannis the MVP. Actually think he did fine. He gave us like 4 minutes. That’s all we needed him to do.

Nice to see Grant Williams with another quiet but solid game.

PierceFan4ever wrote:Usually Jayson probably has nearly half his field goal attempts on bad shot attempts which he still makes at a decent rate remarkably but I think he had like 1 bad shot attempt today and the field goal numbers don’t lie. He got to his spot at all times. He dominated them from the start.

Timelord made a huuuuuuge difference. No disrespect to Theis because he was asked of a role too big for him to handle and he played with effort but Rob is a game changer.

Smart was cooking, his passing was fine today. Brown hit some dagger shots at times. Kemba made some threes. Bench finally did something, I don’t care about offense too much but they hustled out there and made it hard on them

Easily the best team win of the season

It's the first time in a while where we saw the team actually FLOWING offensively at a great pace. Hoping this is the attitude and style going forward rather than stand-around iso-ball.

Of course it’s Stevens! He would definitely start TT over RoB. That guy has no guts in his body.
