Totally Unacceptable.

People wonder why Fournier has had a little chance to make a meaningful impact.

Move the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!

This team has been good at defending against 3s for awhile, where we are usually top 5 in opponent’s FG%. This year, we are 19th. I don’t know what is causing such a drop off. Is it the lack of practice time or is it just lack of effort? Puzzling to say the least.

I dug into it a bit in a new thread, but there is only a couple of possible solutions.

KEmba sucks
Team dont care

But fans said the bench was the problem lol. Need more points from the bench, they said. We just need Barnes spotting up from three instead of Semi, they said. Real issue coming to light.

I have been a Stevens supporter but I think at this point he has lost the team. Not only that this offense is the worst I have seen in 20 years. It consists of a pass or two and Walker, Tatum or Brown playing one on one. It is about as ugly as I have seen.

The east after the third seed is a complete joke so the celtics could unfortunately make the playoffs still by just winning 32 or 33 games.

I want to blame Brad, and I do, but if you're a player and it takes that deficit to play hard, then you shouldn't be here.

This team was in the Eastern Conference Finals last year. Two games from the Finals. What happened?

Let's be real. If Brad Stevens wasn't Brad Stevens he wouldn't survive this season. One of the worst coaching jobs in recent sports memory. He has COMPLETELY lost the team. ZERO accountability out there

Cheap-ass owners just extended Stevens. They won't just fire him and pay him while he sits home. They can hope for an NBA or college job opening up attractive enough for Stevens to agree to a buyout. I guess IU wasn't it.

It’s hard for bench players to get a rhythm if they barely get ball. They can’t even get then open shots because the defense knows the Jays will probably take turns in chucking up bad shots.

Where this game got out of hand was at the end of the 2nd when Luka went super nova. The Mavs shot very well and a good portion of that was due yo how great Luka is finding them.

Some additive factors that buried the Celtics last night:
1. Wagner's slow footnesses and bad defensive decisions lead to compromised rotations.
2. Kemba's game is predicated on making quick shots and attacking. When he's on, it's not an issue. When he's not, the possession is wasted as it ends early.
3. Kornet was a bit better than Wagner, but neither is the guy you want to close.
4. There wasn't enough defensive energy to chip into the lead.

I thought the Jays did fine, not great. The Celtics needed one of them to go toe to toe with Luka for this game specifically. Both Jays were moving the ball on offense. They could have attacked the basket more.

Ultimately, the Celtics could only hang on with their best humming. To me, the Celtics don't work the opposing defense enough. They bail them out with quick early shots and don't get them scrambling.

Luka is allowed to go super nova. BFD.

Play your game. Don’t try to match his ridiculous shots.

I painfully but loyally read through every post. Why?? Good question. But to sum it all up in one sentence:

Our problems are "ALL THE ABOVE"

almost everyone has something right about what's wrong.

The only real questions remain, for next year going forward (this year is lost) how the hell can things be fixed. and what Changes can be made.

There are two ways to beat a superstar going off. Either you have dominant team play or your own best players out duel him. Neither happened last night because the former was heavily lacking. On the long run, you would rather rely on the team and I think the Jays are doing the right thing in trusting them.

Luka made some ridiculous shots for a guy shooting Smart % from the three.

Luka's shooting 38% from three for the season and has been shooting like 43% on 9 attempts since the beginning of February. He's been shooting significantly better than Smart ever has

So if you go back and watch the game again Tatum made passes to wide open teammates that should have lead to 12 total assists in the game if guys just hit their shots, (3 straight trips down the court early in the game passes for wide open looks, miss, miss, miss). Yeah, it must get frustrating and make you want to try to do more yourself. Even Brown had 2 or 3 passes leading to missed open looks as well. On an average team Tatum would have finished with at least 7 or 8 assists and Brown 3 or 4. As many people like to say when it fits their argument...."don't just look at the final stats"

JT and JB are selfish, jumpshooting pair of Robins.

Kemba tries, but he's peaked 2 years ago and it's just all downhill from there.

Smart is now more concerned about getting his numbers rather than locking down an opposing star player.

Fournier is a good player that just seems to fold under pressure. His past 2 horrible playoff series attests to that.

Nesmith, Grant, Langford, Carsen, all of these guys just a reminder of how much picks were wasted in the past couple years.

This season can't end soon enough. They've become more unbearable than the 18-19 team.

Brad needs to go before giving up on JB. Although I'm all for trading JB to get a top 15 player.
