I hope they try to win on Tuesday without Rob, so that if they do he gets almost another full week of rest for his toe.

I hope that he doesn't mess himself up worse playing through the pain. I once sprained an ankle because my gate changed due to a toe injury on the other foot.

That could well be how he got the turf toe to start with.

said it in another thread, but I'd rather they hold Robert out until if/when we get to a playoff series.
Let him heal up rather than re-aggravate it. BUT they know better than I do, let's hope they actually make a good decision based on that knowledge.

I'm now ready to just shut Rob Williams down for the year. The C's are only going to play another week-plus and they aren't contenders. Clearly he's at risk of aggravating his injury by going out there too soon, and a grade 3 TT can require foot surgery, whether for soft tissue or bone. No big man should need it to get to that point.

Damn, what a bummer.

Not surprising though, since we put him out there vs Miami and vs Washington after suffering the turf toe and it keeps getting worse when you play on it before it's fully healed..

If the Nets lose to us without Timelord and Jaylen, this forum is going to be hysterical. We're going to clown them so so so bad

if ownership isn't looking at Danny or Brad this summer, fine, but at LEAST I hope they give some scrutiny to our so-called training staff. Toss all the 'accountability' there for this summer. Might turn out to be a significant way to improve the team's performance next year! #bring back Doo #or something but WTF we doing?

If any media wants to do some investigative reporting on the performance of our training staff that'd be great. I don't know anything about these people but I know running Robert Williams out there was a bad idea

Performance Staff
Nick Arcuri - Director of Team Nutrition / Team Chef
Steven Bekerian - Culinary Nutrition Assistant
Art Horne - Director of Performance
Steve Mount - Rehabilitation Manager
Guy Napolitana - Team Physician
Tony Schena - Head Team Physician

Seriously.

I'd be very curious about the track record/experience of these people (other than the 2 nutrition guys). Like, did any of them have any NBA experience prior to the Celtics? And if so, how long ago was it? How many years were they with that team?

I mean, it's good news because obviously we have a better chance to win with Robert playing.

But at the same time, I'm scared to have him out there, risking his long term health in a series that we have pretty much no chance of winning even if he does play in every game.

Catch 22..

I'd rest him game 1. Next game isnt until Tuesday... That will be a week since our last game. We only need to win 1 in Brooklyn to steal momentum and put pressure on the nets before going to Boston. We could win tomorrow anyway. But still have Tuesday to steal one and take home court.

I'd tell Williams to take a shot of novacaine in his toe and suck it up. They need as many seconds as possible with Timelord on the floor.

That's good news, especially the fact that Rob is not on the injury report at all for game 2.

I'm thinking they still watch his minutes though just to be safe, and the 23 mins he played in game 1, I'd expect around that same amount in game 2, maybe a little more..
