I agree. It would be pretty hard beating that team in a 7game series. You need to have a legit big man to guard the middle, else westbrook would just tear down the middle. You need to have really good shooters as well. That team is big, and will be good defensively in the half court setting.

The hope is they all break down from either exhaustion or injuries by the time the playoffs roll around, but these are veterans we're talking about. The 2020 Lakers were also old and had very little shooting, yet they still won the championship. Then again, they benefited from the mid-season rest and the bubble environment too.

It all depends on LeBron's and AD's health. If those two are fully healthy come playoff time, they'll always be favored. The supporting cast won't matter as much.

They have too many just offense or just defense guys. And if they go big with westbrook that team cant shoot. I think we are about to see another "philly" super team if you remember that from the NFL

Well they could use a lineup of weatbrook, ellington, melo, lebron and AD. That lineup has decent amount of shooting and defense.

We can agree to disagree :) I'm always just curious what other fan bases think. When I look at that team I'll give you AD and Lebron. But Westbrook is terrible on D, so Is melo and ellington is a train wreck.

Yup agree to disagree then. You have to give up something if u want something. Melo is the only given. Westbrook can be good if engaged to it. Ellington is average.

Might be a bold take but I'm calling it. Toronto is going to be a playoff team next yr.

I like what they are are doing.

C Either Precious or Birch
F Siakam
F Onunoby
G Trent Jr
G VanVleet

Bench: Boucher, Dragic, Scottie Barnes, Birch/Precious (whoever doesn't start)

That's a pretty damn good 9 man rotation

could be a good lineup but ellington was struggling to get mins on the pistons last yr who were terrible. i don't see him being much of a factor for the lakers this yr.

I figure Nunn, Horton-Tucker and Monk are all getting mins over him.

I agree those 3 would be ahead, especially Monk. Ellington could just be a specialist shooter on spot minutes. Didn’t know they also got Monk. They are definitely loaded.

That's a dangerous team but they'll have problems in the playoffs without a true, reliable 1st option. But maybe Siakam develops into that.

I'm curious who will start at the 2 for the Lakers. I assume it would be Nunn because they'll have enough size in the other positions to compensate for a 6'2 SG. Or maybe Ellington as a spot starter. It's also probably due time for Davis to shift permanently to the 5.

Well the Nets have to get past the Bucks. But you're right and it's the same formula. The Buck will address their depth and some holes and they'll be tougher this year. IMO the Hawks put way too much money on a smallish pf in Collins. Hexdoesnt have Tatums perimeter game and he can't stop Tatum on the block. I like the Cs moves and they should compete for the 3rd seed this season. It's gonna be competitive. Fans will be back. Teams will be playing hard.

The nets would have gotten by them in 5 games if they were healthy. 6 if they choked a game away. The only thing stopping them is health. Two top 5 players and an all star? The bucks needed 2 of the 3 to be hurt just to win in 7, in overtime.

The nets are winning it all if 2 out of their 3 stars are healthy. One of kyrie/ harden and Durand. That trio is too good and I’d say better than Warriors 3 that won the title.

That might be another reason the celtics seem willing to wait it out this year
