Why not? He comes out and says he's "good at basketball" and then he makes two dumb cross court passes that any 8th grader knows not to make. His turnovers cost them the game on Saturday-- never mind his complete lack of offensive production in the 4th quarter. If he was too tired, he should have been on the bench.

I mean did you just notice Smart isn't shooting well? He's had like 1 decent shooting season (at .400 from the field) and that's cause he averaged like 8 shots a game.

I want C Wood as much as you.. I also think saving the first it would take to require him would be a good investment. with that said, Every 1st is being saved for the hypothetical trade for Beal. (sign N Trade in the summer)

But I also believe Beal would much rather stay at Was for the Max and stay option #1 vs share a top 3 spot in scoring with Boston. It is really hard for players to give up the lead mantle.

2) Wood is a center - center or PF he can shoot and score well so it doesn't matter to me.
3) Tatum is a PF - he is better at PF for sure.

A spread out floor with 2 capable Bigs are what I like for sure. With Rob Williams rotating. It will also serve to lessen the minutes of Rob and Horford and prolong their play.

What's even out there? Wood, Hield, Bagley, maybe Wiggins and journeyman like Thad Young, Eric Gordon, etc. Potentially Brandon Ingram? And does this team even have any assets? Not really.

I go back to Danny and how he really screwed up his "war chest." Just awful, terrible drafts and leaving this team in a position where, though it's not mid 2010s Nets ugly, it's just... meh. Purgatory. Top heavy with Tatum and Brown, a quality player in Rob who can't stay healthy, and a bunch of roleplayers.

Schroder, 1st rounders, Marcus, and maybe if teams want to give an oft-injured Rob and Nesmith/Pritchard a chance is basically all this team has. Best we can hope for is for the young guys to step up, because KG ain't walking through that door.
