Williams/horford/kanter

Coby white should be the pg. a really good shooting 2 guard in place of smart would be ideal. Smart as 6th man.

I think coby is a more natural sg, but paired with smart their skill match well. Coby is a scorer, smart a playmaket.

So Coby White Makes them a contender LOL? And as I said before, I'd rather have Boucher.

Celtics need shooting period. Someone that plays off of Tatum/Brown and consistently makes wide open shots. That player doesn’t have to be an all-star. Just someone who is not part of the brick brigade.

Patty Mills went 7 for 10 from three point range last night. Celtics don’t have a player on their roster not named Tatum/Brown that is capable of doing that. Please don’t say Pritchard and Nesmith because neither can get out of the 20-29% range

Well, thats good I guess?

But coby is cheaper, is not expiring, is younger and is a better player.

Also, i dont think adding him necessarily makes team a champ contender(neither does boucher) but it is a definite improvement

We could have gotten patty mills, but i guess they like guards that can defend but with mediocre shooting. I doubt mills get playing time with Ime as the coach.

Coby white is a big guard with shooting. I would rather have a guard that can shoot. Smart is good defensively, but is a liablity on offense, especially at close games. Everyone should be a threat on offense in the closing minutes, otherwise, other teams will exploit it. Smart should be a 6th man, not a starter. Though he is playing rather well lately. I give him that.

Smart has had the most positive impact statistically in the team. He is a starter to stay

Those things don’t matter in the closing minutes. We need guys that are reliable to end games on both ends. We can’t go to that next level if smart is starting and finishing. I can’t blame JT and JB ball hogging at end games. They don’t trust guys like smart to really make a wide open shot.

I remembered guys here were laughing at that jaylen for sabonis proposal. Then suddenly he turned a corner and became an all star. Double double machine that can also pass the ball, create his own shot. I would do that in a heart beat as well.

It’s just getting exhausting at this point. We’re an average team who needs to blow it up.
I love Brown but we need to see what we can potentially get for him.

Before going to the extent of talking about trading Jaylen Brown, I think the Celts should explore trading Marcus Smart for Ben Simmons.

Smart is a better fit for the Sixers.

Doc Rivers will be the perfect coach for Marcus Smart.

We've got two overpaid boys masquerading as stars. Until that is fixed, this team is going nowhere: not this year, not next year, not ever.

That would be a short exploration.

Agreed. But for the record, I don't think they'd be trying to talk straight swap. More likely Smart plus 3 firsts/swaps and other stuff.

I'm sure if Morey decides to take a package of role players/picks he can get a better offer elsewhere though.

Jaylen is the obvious piece to move in that kind of deal, but especially with Simmons not playing and the drama I'd find it pretty impossible to make a straight swap and think both sides would struggle to agree on what has to be added on either side.

Are the Spurs going to liberate Murray during this rebuild? Man, he looks great out there. Maybe a middle class man's Fox.

Romeo + Josh + 1st + 2nd for Murray

Swapping Romeo for Murray's terrible contract isn't making us a contender. We need big changes, and Romeo, Richardson and picks set us up better for a big trade than a mediocre guard on a bad contract.

Not gonna lie if the Kings came in and offered us a package built around De’Aaron Fox & Harrison Barnes for one of Brown/Tatum and Schroder, I’d give it serious consideration.

I think a reality that we may not want to accept is that we may have to make a choice. Our ceiling will only be so high when the two best players are iso-first and iso-second players with a love for low percentage shots. I’m starting to feel like we are the 2013 Raptors with the Jays playing the roles of DeRozan & Gay.

I would gladly make that deal.

Murray is a fantastic player, imo, great 3rd guy for the jays.

Defends, gets in the lane, passes great size.
