Blazers with new head coach Billups also a disappointment so far.

Mark Murphy:
Al Horford may be this team's greatest advocate at the moment. "The biggest thing, and I told the guys, is making sure that we make the most out of this opportunity. I’m very grateful to be here with the Celtics and it doesn't matter kind of what has happened in the past."
Al is such a great guy to have on the team. Really a high character, professional guy. I hope when he hangs them up that he remains with the Celtics in some capacity, but I suspect New England winters are not in the cards for him.

I think his family likes Boston quite a bit. For starters there is a large Dominican community here.

There's a scenario I can see the Celts capitalizing on Horford's impressive performance this season.
Since GSW is a top 2 in the west right now, what if GSW is interested in Horford and are willing to give up Wiseman?
Curry and GSW are in a win now situation.
They can't wait for Wiseman to mature.
Horford as the Center of the Warriors will most likely result in GSW being a legit finals contender.

Even crazier cos he's asked to switch out to perimeter guys. So he's still able to stay in front of drivers or is in the right position to help when he's off ball or on the weakside. Why he's disappointed when team doesn't box and out and finish the possession with a rebound.

I think a problem that is going on amongst the personality/chemistry issues right now is that we are running a defensive system that is promoting players I'd like to see less of and demoting players I'd like to see more of.
Smart and GWill are getting too much playing time for my liking and then we have PP, Nesmith, Langford, Hernangomez, Kanter all largely riding the bench with no consistent role.
We can't keep giving major minutes to GWill just because he's "switchable."
Why did we build a bench that can't even get in the game consistently due to the system we are running?

Very early returns for double-big lineups have been good so far (still in 92nd percentile in net rating solely due to defense). Offense has been poop but I think it's mostly because Tatum forgot how to put the ball into the basket and because Smart is having his worst shooting season ever.
Missing out on defensive boards is kind of expected in a switching scheme so Jays just have to be better at boxing out and grabbing the rebound.

Would love to see double big expand to Kanter and Hernangomez...
Maybe combos of Al with Hernangomez and RobWill with Kanter

Eye-test wise I'm ok with the double-big lineup, especially against certain matchups, but think it definitely has some limitations that are exacerbated with Smart (or any non-shooting threat) as the PG.
Basically it clogs the paint to have both guys out there and Rob isn't a distance shooting threat so his guy can cheat off him a bit.

I could def live with this.. at the very least these units should be tried and not for a half by for some games.. I mean it's not like the other way was working good.
+ some of your 3rd stringers move up since it seems like it's always one guy taking turns sitting out with an injury,

I don´t understand why Kanter doesn´t play at all. I mean, we know his game and we signed him as a FA anyway. Now he´s even behind Bruno in the rotation.
Also, I know Grant has been very good so far, but I would like to see Juancho getting some playing time.
Pritchard should be playing back up PG and Schroeder should start. Smart is not a true PG, I have been saying that forever. He can play PG at some moments but it´s not his forte.
I also loved the Nesmith/Langford combo.

Would like to see Kanter and Juancho get more PT as well. The Celtics have strong defenders to put on the court with Kanter, which would mitigate his defensive liabilities. If he's not being badly abused, and he's putting up points, and pulling down boards, well...

When Brad used to play 11 to 13 guys every game, we fans complained he should tighten his rotation so main guys can get some rhythm.
Ime plays 9 guys, fans want the entire roster playing.
