https://therookiewire.usatoday.com/2022/05/09/nba-draft-2022-g-league-elite-camp-participants/
The NBA on Monday announced the field of 44 prospects set to participate in the G League Elite Camp on May 16 and 17 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The event gives prospects the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The participants will take part in 5-on-5 games and strength and agility drills during the two-day camp.
The top performers in the G League Elite Camp will earn invitations to the draft combine, which will run May 18-22. The elite camp last year produced several notable players, including New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado and Indiana Pacers guard Duane Washington Jr.

Yeah, definitely some intriguing names on that last. I'm assuming most NBA teams will be in attendance. I'm sure celtics will have at least 1 scout there.
Lots of guys on that list are possibilities for our 2nd round pick or UDFA. Especially McCullar, Gabe Brown, Lee, Roden, Fabian White and Vince Williams.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread
Kenneth Lofton is a pretty fun player with a unique body type and an old school bully ball type game. I just don't know if it translates to the NBA but in FIBA youth world championship finals last year he was the best player in the fourth quarter on a floor with Holmgren, Wembanyama, Ivey and a bunch of future NBA players.

"Unique body type" = he's fat and not very athletic. I would stay away.

I don't think he fits the mold of player that Stevens is looking for so this is probably moot anyway but we have seen players transform their bodies prior to the draft before and move around the court drastically better in the process. Hell, I heard the same criticism about Grant Williams less than a year ago. He used to look stuck in mud and now he's staying in front of Durant and Giannis somehow. So I'd be curious to monitor Lofton's progress. If he shows commitment to get his body in the shape necessary to play at the NBA level then keep tracking him, if not you move on.

Grant Williams was never fat, just has a thick body type. His body fat was an extremely low 5.4% at the 2019 NBA Draft Combine.

Lofton is even fatter than Jared Sullinger ever was. Think a fat Oliver Miller.

Orlando Robinson - Fresno State. A stretch 5 who noone seems to notice and who has impressive numbers.

From these highlights, Orlando Robinson looks like a very good prospect. But he's certainly been noticed: NBADraft.net has him going in the first round at #26.

Another prospect, a bit old at 24 is Matthew Mayner from Baylor. Good height 6"9 and good mobility and very sound. Would make a good sharpshooter off the bench. Not sure if he will declare for the draft but if he does and he slips, he looks ideal.

Ron Harper Jr we discussed upthread is a little bigger and longer than Grant Williams.

Robinson is a sleeper. He's ranked 71st right now on ESPN.
I don't think nbadraft.net is a very legit site.
I mean you never know, he could go 26. But consensus has him going either late 2nd round or undrafted at this point.

Lofton has slimmed down quite a bit. He looks like a different person now!

I too thought about Grant Williams, how he slimmed down, and how that helped his game. Lofton looks to have skills, and a nice soft touch, but will he be another Jared Sullinger or have the discipline to shed pounds like Grant did? If I was a Celtics scout, I would be sure to tell him about Jared's experience, also Grant's. One can't stay in the NBA if one can't stay away from the table. Lofton needs to shed pounds, and improve his conditioning. If he can do that, he might have an NBA future.

The challenge isn't just to lose the weight, it's to keep it at the level where your body performs best. Caleb Swanigan is a name that comes to mind in terms of drastic weight loss before the draft that couldn't sustain it afterwards. But Lofton looks on the right track for sure. He's listed as 6'7 and 275lbs currently, we'll see where he's at the combine.
