Voted for the Jays. And I wanted to homer-vote for Al, Rob and Grant but you can only do three bigs and JT is a big as far as the voting goes.
I think JT is probably our only guy that makes all star this year, unless Jaylen stays healthy and goes off in the next few weeks and we get some wins. But homer votes are still fun.

I wonder if Rob Williams really has a chance to get a lot of votes?
I vote for him. Just don't know who will make it, especially in these Omicron-COVID times.

I can't wait to see how high Rob Williams is on that list.
I mean, I don't expect him to get in, but he's gotta be up there.

In some of the past years I would do the homer thing, ballot stuff by voting every day and include guys like Pritch.
Not this year. Still voting every day but 90% on merit. If there are no injury replacements it could get tough.
The Final voting is 5 starters.
5 Backups.
2 More and we all know that the designated coach's behind the scenes requests (if any) strongly influence who rounds out his team with the final two spots if he feels he needs something to compete for a win.
The East shooting guards challenge Brown by having Zach LaVine, James Harden, Fred Van Fleet and Bradley Beal to contend with (with Harden a second Western conference transplant in addition to LaVine's move from a few years back).
Even Jayson Tatum has more competition now that Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan (a Western Conference transplant), though I'd take him in a second over them, but still have guys like Antetokuonmpo and Durant and Joel Embiid in the East.
Trae Young, LaMelo and Jrue Holiday will be competing for spots, especially with Khris Middleton missing so many games and getting off to a slow start assuming Milwaukee gets two guys as NBA Champs.

Kinda hoping neither Jay makes it. Not hating. Just want them to feel disrespected and have that chip on their shoulder. It could backfire and just put up numbers in 2nd half regardless of team success, but I just feel they plateaued in their progression from last season.
If I had to pick 12 right now...
1. Giannis
2. KD
3. Embiid
4. DeRozan
5. LaVine
6. Holiday
7. Harden
8. Trae
9. Garland
10. FVV
11. Butler
12. Allen

It’ll probably just be Tatum, unless we significantly get it going over the next few weeks.

I feel the same way. You look at Tatum's stats & he looks like he should be there, but he has not been an all star this year to me.
Our top 8 are the same. I'd say only 1 Cav player. Prob FVV. Butler who knows now with his injury. he'll prob make it & be replaced.
I'd prob take Garland out, assume Butler's not it. That leaves 2 spots for Tatum, Beal, Ball.

If people are being honest the Celtics don't deserve an all-star this year.

That's kind of crazy to me. I mean Jaylen only has 24 games played, most of those guys have like 30+, so that hurts.
But Kyrie has played.... 1 game. Derrick rose isn't an all-star. And Jaylen has clearly been better than Tyler Hero
Also how is DeRozan a guard? He starts every game next to Ball and Lavine. He has 84% of his minute at forward according to BB reference. Of course Jaylen isn't REALLY a guard either, but he at least plays more of his minutes there then Demar does.

Some of those names ahead of Jaylen are embarrassing.
