After a great game 7 Payton Pritchard ended the 2nd round series shooting .333 from the three. He is now .341 from deep in the playoffs for his career. I would not be sad to see him go and get replaced by someone who can play defense and also shoot .341 from deep.

Hug the line .341 is fine if that player can also switch on D and attack the rim. Unironically Javonte Green.

Payton costs next to nothing, is still young, he can hold and move the ball, makes few stupid moves and he plays sporadically. If you can someone who plays defence and shoots .341 you have another Jaylen brown i think those lads are just a bit more expensive

Theis might be more playable against GS who don't have a scoring big. Not having RWill would suck but it's easier to overcome against a perimeter team like GS. Pritchard will hopefully find more space too.

Would it have made much sense to tweak this 2nd Unit anymore than Stevens did?

I feel like, the Verdict is still out on Nesmith.
But the remaining 2nd Unit, and the Re-acquisition of Horford have paid Dividends.

Could they have kept Josh and still acquired White? Could they have grabbed a 15 million dollar contract guy with a trade exception and a pick?

If we fall short will front office regret any moves not made? I honestly don’t know but at the time it seemed shrewd.

This team is going to finals largely because Horford has played like the max contract guy we signed out of Atlanta in 2016. Are we still a contender when age catches up to him? If not, was this our one chance in the near term to get banner 18?

These are Great questions.
I especially like the idea of keeping Richardson, and acquiring D. White.

absolutely hate the White trade. I once felt that despite that, should we win a championship it’d be worth it. But I’m starting to think we could have beaten all these injured teams without him and certainly with Richardson and Langford instead of him. But a championship will soften the blow

Retrospectives aside I don't think anyone thought it was a great idea at the trade deadline to go all in. The C's were in 6th place and had been at .500 before winning 6 in a row and I don't think anyone was sold that we were a contender. I know you're putting it in a reasonable manner but I don't think with the information available you could call it a failure regardless of the outcome. It was a pretty crazy turnaround that even a homer like myself would never have predicted, punting the luxury tax seemed like an obvious choice.
