If against the Cavs: just win.
If against the Nets: destroy, then destroy some more.

I don't know about you guys, but you guys remember 2015 when the Celts made the playoffs after the Celts traded for Isaiah Thomas at the trade deadline?

Celtic fans were so excited after the Celts made the playoffs and became the 7th seed that season.

When the Celts got swept by the Cavs in the 1st round, a lot of Celtic fans wished the Celts stayed in the lottery.

Right now Celtic fans are happy with the way this season turned out.

But I'm not sure how Celtic fans would react if the Nets eliminate the Celts in the 1st round.

All the Celts had to do was lose the last game of the season so that facing the Nets in the 1st round would be avoided.

Rob Williams will not get a chance to play in this season's playoffs if the Celts lose in the 1st round.

Allen out for Cavs, Nets in 1.

*edit - then Boston in 4 (just read title, thought the post was only about the play in)

Eh. The Bucks obviously share that sentiment of avoiding teams.
The Celtics don't usually do stuff like that, though.

We've got 17 Championship Banners.
We must be doing something right.

Agree 100% if Rob was healthy.

It's admirable that even when not 100% healthy the Celts decided not to dodge anyone.

But even the defending champ Bucks decided to stay away from the #2 seed.

So let's see what happens.

We may not be facing the Nets. I forgot about one of the most primal forces in the universe, right up there with John Wick and Chuck Norris memes:

Play. Off. Rondo.

To be honest, the Nets are so **** it is not funny. It is the ultimate timeline, first Playoff Rondo outplayed LeBron, now he takes out Durant and that other part time knob jockey.

Celtics in 4 if it's the cavs. Celtics in 6 or 7 if it's the nets. I give the celtics a 99.9% chance of beating the cavs. 60-65% at beating the nets. I think we have the better team and they have the best player and better closers. Picking us because we have homecourt and I think we will win a couple games where the nets don't have a shot to win late in the 4th because we are up relatively big.

As far as nets vs cavs, I think the cavs can win 1 game. Any team can win 1 game. I wouldn't bet on it but should hopefully be a fun play in game. Go cavs.

A concern for me with the Nets is rebounding. Not sure what the numbers say but without Rob (Grant or Theis in his place), I feel we might give the Nets multiple chances even as we get stops. Drummond and Bruce Brown in particular can get after the offensive glass if we don't box out. And we will miss the free points Rob gives us off our own misses with his tip-ins and tap-outs. Horford be Benjamin Buttoning for this series pls.

I've got the C's in 6 if it's Brooklyn, and 4 if it's cavs.

In 800 possessions, Nets have been outscored by almost 4 pts per 100 possessions with Kyrie on the floor without KD or Harden. Never change, Kyrie haha. Nash might have to play KD 45+ mpg.

If it’s the nets who’s their starting five most likely kyrie Seth Bruce kd and Drummond? Or is it kd at the 5 with patty or clax at the five.

I also welcome Drummond and his sterling 49% fg at the rim to put those offensive boards back up.

I’ve wanted the nets even before their meltdown. Something about that **** series last season just really pissed me off.

KD like elbowing Tatum in the face and getting the call not wanting to guard him while Tatum shadowed him. Kyrie kd and the nets just clowning us when we were basically down to Tatum only.

The whole lucky crap with kyrie I want revenge and I wanna send those bitchmade sage wielding cupcake front runners to Cancun for the summer.

This is it. Time to pay Kylie for what he did to Lucky and for being such a *****.

For context, huckleberry is an old slang for "huckle bearer" or "i'm your pallbearer". If you said that you were saying you would be happy to carry your dead corpse to the graveyard.

No doubt Ime will exploit the Kyrie mismatch and punish him badly on defense, every possession he's on the floor. If the Cavs do it, we might not even see the Nets.

Celts in 6 vs Nets
Celts in 5 vs Cavs
Time to showcase the J's and put the East on notice! Nets are Cocky as heck and are lookin past the C's. Shut them up and play bully ball like the old Pistons! Need that defensive intensity to carry this group.....Lets Go!
