Celtics Good Sports, Spot Bucks a Game 1 Win (Milwaukee leads 1-0)

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sun May 1, 2022 7:40 pm

Well that was unfortunate.

Credit to the Bucks, their defense was great and Portis and Jrue were terrific. And Giannis was Giannis.

That said I thought a lot of our struggles were self inflicted. We had a lot energy from the jump but it was too frenetic and unfocused. Then we settled down a bit but couldn't hit shots and the game got away from us.

I expect a great bounceback and WIN in Game 2. It's not supposed to be easy and I'm not going to let a bad game make me forget how good our team is and how much I trust them to dig deep and get it done. Ime is going to coach that ass and get them playing the right way.

Can't wait for Tuesday night, GO C'S!

Celtics played a soft Brooklyn team that plays no defense which clearly isn't the case against Milwaukee.

Milwaukee manhandled Boston for about 85% of the game. Boston was shell shocked and if you have Brown as a second option you going to struggle to win a championship. What is even more alarming is Milwaukee is playing without their second best player.

Like I said in the Brooklyn series teams that win the first game win the series about 73% of the time and unfortunately Boston doesn't have a great track record in Milwaukee.

Bad shooting day for the Jay's. Regroup and get ready for game 2. Need to steel a game in Milwauke now.

That was rough to watch. Felt like we got bullied out there and lost our composure. They're the NBA champions and with Lopez they're an all time interior defense. Shooting that bad is an auto loss.

This was bound to happen sooner or later, I'm sure Ime will use it to work on the team's mindset.

Burn the tape and move on.

Need to be able to score points in the paint - we aren't going to win jacking up 50 3's a game.

They'll figure it out, they will be more competitive in game 4. Don't double Giannis, Brown needs to eat when Tatum is doubled

Never play Tatum + 4 bench players in the playoffs at the same time again

I also want to add that the Celtics never recovered from the White at point guard experience at about the 6-minute mark in the first quarter.

This was embarrassing, but this is entirely on the Bucks defense. They exposed a lack of toughness in us. Giannis was toying with them by the 4th quarter.

Jaylen with probably his worst game as a Celtic. White was horrible too, especially in the first quarter that allowed the Bucks to surge into a lead they'll never relinquish.

They need to pressure that Bucks defense more next game instead of settling for threes. They even got some key Bucks players in foul trouble, just couldn't take advantage.

It's only 1 game, but I'm officially worried.

I said Celtics in 6. I stand by it.

But it's concerning they had a week off and this is how they come out fighting.

Brown needs to be better. Tatum is going to be doubled and tripple here in our and he needs someone to step the **** up.

Smart will be fine. Hurt? Maybe. But he's a dirt dog and will be back.

Played scared tonight. Anything inside the 3-point line was challenged hard and the C's couldn't handle it. Let's hope for a better game plan.

How should the Celtics get good looks against this defense? That’s the question Ime has to try and answer.

Off to the next one. THey need to find a way run on the break and make the correct passes.
Way too many turnovers.
Defense was good.
I would give Theis a chance as he's better on offense than Bobby. Of course Bobby should start, but give Theis a little bit of time.
Good game for Horfie despite the loss..
Good assessment:

Bucks had 28-8 advantage in fast break points and 27-6 advantage in points off turnovers. There's the game. Can't happen again. Transition D has to be better and can't just be careless with the ball.

This is a bad matchup. We got bullied and outclassed. Tatum cannot finish inside against their size, and our offense basically dies right there. No easy looks today, and none are coming. Defense getting broken down easily for open 3s from good 3pt shooters with us collapsing on Giannis, and even then, he still kicked our ass. Jaylen looks hurt as well.

We can still win, but they are a superior team. Best player, bigger, better shooting, as good defensively.

Is it too late to sign Rondo. Need a playmaker against their ball pressure

Terrible offensive play. And the turnovers. SMH. I know they hit 18 3s, but lord, they settled for it. They need to attack the basket multiple of times.

No idea, but ball movement wouldn't hurt.

Meh. Week off is good for health. Bad for sharpness. They really struggled with the defense of Milwaukee and were stubborn.

Derek white is useless.
Fastpp wasn't hitting his shots which was super disappointing. Talk about nerves.

Rushed. Terrible shooting.

AL was the only man wearing a Celtics jersey today.
Saw a lot of little 19 year old "why didn't they call a foul, so I'm gunna stand here" tatum.
See how they respond after getting punched on the nose.

That was really hard to watch.
