I bet she'd love that phrasing you're such a poet lol.

She suggested going to game 7 instead of sticking around in NYC because "it's your second kid after all" so I don't think she would mind. (I declined  )

Pritchard has been more productive to date but can we stop acting like player's developoment is done after their sophomore season. I mean we just saw Grant Williams going from having half the fanbase trying to run him out of town to being the highest scorer in a game 7. Nesmith by the way is still younger today than Pritchard was when he joined the NBA. Give them time to write their own stories.

Someone could have made a bundle betting that Grant would outscore Tatum and Giannis, eh? Clearly the cigar goes to Grant, though the win was due to a solid team effort. Many thought we couldn't get by the Nets. Same with the Bucks. Both worthy opponents, but we showed we are the better team. We now have business with the Heat, another tough team. It's not an easy path, but we are up to the challenge. Let's go Celtics! I can smell banner 18!

Batman probably deserves his cigar, but I went Pritch. Per 36 he posted better than 28/10/6, and more importantly he came up with a few big rebounds/shots/plays at clutch moments that really helped us put the game away in the second half.

These posts after game 5 did not age so well:

Oh and someone actually gave this last post an and-1

Lol, I'll never understand why when our team has a big win and everyone is celebrating having a good time some people have the urge to be negative and against their own fanbase.

What if everyone that was negative quoted everyone that was positive every time we lost? I guarantee they would have more "gotcha" moments than the positive people. You're not special, we won. And we're all happy about it. Leave it at that.

Then again, if people who go straight to the ledge the minute the opposition team scores two baskets in a row and actually kept it to themselves, or even just (heaven forbid) maybe waited two minutes before posting, they would look a lot less idiotic and make the game thread a lot more enjoyable. We had that many "I'm done with this team" posts throughout this series it's surprising there was anyone left who was going to post. It's plain old emotional immaturity at the end of the day, but they won't see it, they'll explain it away that they are passionate or some other juvenile rationalisation that will start with "I'm just...". It's win = good (although sometimes still bad for a few) and lose = this team sux.

If you want to enjoy sports (or indeed life) with the mentality of a five year old that's fine I guess, it's amusing to me to a point, but it's hard to take at times just on the sheer volume of it that permeates the forum to the extent that it does.

I had started to respond, but was having trouble making my point, so scrapped it. You nailed it, though.

Now that Shaq actually started watching our games he's become a big fan haha.

"I don't know where y'all had Jayson Tatum ranked but he moved up 6 or 7 spots. That boy's tough! I want to give him his props. He just went through two legends and this is the time of year where you make names and you take names. Oh he's better than me? Watch this! So Jayson Tatum if you're watching this, you're doing great."

This team is in a great place mentally, from top to bottom. They have matured, they respect their opponents, acknowledge that they are very good basketball teams but they also know that they are better than them and aren't afraid. They bounce back when things go south and don't get too high when things are going well. I am very proud of this version of the Celtics we have especially since we've been watching the Jays and Smart since they were teenagers. I am sure that we have a contender for at least the next couple of years. Obviously, I am optimistic about our title chances this year after going through what I believe is an elite Bucks team. But even if it doesn't end with the 18th banner, this is my favorite Celtics team in a long time and I'm very excited about our future.

I thought I was the only one. I tremendously enjoyed when he'd crouch almost to the floor on defense when taking on Tatum and get destroyed every time
