Yabusele

Post#1 » by Kenhov » Sat May 21, 2022 12:47 am

Is playing in the Euroleague final as a star player for Real Madrid.

In many ways he is Grant Williams before there was Grant Williams.

Hope he gets a chance to get back into the NBA. He is an even better athlete now and can actually shoot the ball now.

Loving the threads today. And I agree with you.
Thanks Brad for answering my ad,
"Boston Celtics Barbershop, cutters wanted."
But after KP, your C play? You broke my heart Fredo.

Still maybe not an nba rotation player but man it looks like he finally got serious about his career. Dude doesn’t look like he’s carrying an ounce of body fat. Was never even close to this in-shape with Boston.

How is Yabusele's defense now? He's made all the other changes he needed to: speed, conditioning, lift, and 3 point stroke.

He's knocking down threes from the corner, above the break, in catch and shoot, off the dribble, out of pick and pop. Great versatility in his jumper.

Why ? You do realize that say PJ Tucker also washed out of the league when he was young and that didn't stop him from being a big contributor to his teams later on. Guys can continue to work on their games and improve even if they aren't in the NBA. Doesn't matter how bad Yabusele's first stint was, what matters is whether he can be a contributor if they bring him back to Boston.

Looks much slimmer than his time with us.

Yabs would have to come back on NBA minimum like Wannamaker did. Does he want to be in NBA badly enough to take that kind of hit financially? I doubt it.

Yabusele and Grant Williams would make a redundant but very entertaining pairing.

I'm serious about bringing him back if he's shown improved skills and ability. He's 6'8" with a 7'1" wingspan... only 1" shorter and same wingspan as Horford. He was always thought to have quick feet, and that should only be helped if he's slimmed down as he appears to have done. He's still only 26. His physical profile fits well in our scheme. We'd obviously be talking about a low risk flier here. No harm in taking a chance.

While his time with the Celtics was not so great, he clearly has made strides in his game. Enough that it is not outside the realm of possibility that he might find his way back to the NBA, perhaps even to the Celtics. If that proves to be the case I will gladly cheer for him. You wouldn't?

What does Yabusele even make over there? I think $3.5 to $4 mil. per year are considered top-tier salary in Euroball. Walter Tavares apparently makes the most money on Real Madrid at $2 mil. per year.
Still the life-style is probably easier, fewer games to play, and barely any travel compared to the NBA.

Not to mention the guy is French. So coming to the NBA means going away from home, to grind for less money.

There's a Sexy Pants sighting in the video around the 1:15 mark as well!

Return to Boston Celtics
