Welcome Derrick White

The Jay’s and Udoka LOVE this dude. And he can play. Our front office are super into advanced stats, and this is how White grades out.

Hell ya! Think too many folks are focused on his 3pt% this year and missing the big picture. White is a player -- think fans are going to love him.

We overpaid here, he is a decent player but the draft compensation (this years pick future pick swap) was too much also do not like what he does for our future cap and odds of bringing a 3rd star, Richardson was expiring next season White has 3 more years left after this season at 15 mil per season.

We definitely over paid here but hopefully tiny guy continues an uptick. He is the pg next year so that crap is done white pp and bring one our stashes. Parls said we're under the cap so kinda of win but it don't feel like it I personally don't think white is all the hype didn't think he deserved to be on the USA team either. But this stops the b.s. pg talk

Damn, nice trade guys.

Prefer White over Thad, but we both got better.

See you in the standings.

I don't know *** about Derrick White as a player.

His stats say he's just another Schroduer but this thread says he can play defense. So is he Dennis on offense but with decent defense?

I'm not thrilled with the idea of going small at SG or not playing Pritchard but with those two plus Smart that's what this lineup says. Nor am I a fan of not having spacing on the court when RG3 should be nailed in as the starting Center going forward and that's our 1 guy who can't hit 3s.

But seriously, someone educate me. I was hoping for a Ricky Rubio type PG to run the entire offense and make up for the lack of playmaking the Jays have as a compliment to them and hell even to Smart who can't drive and kick which is something we desperately need.

Is White really going to play point guard for us?

34% career 3pt shooter that plays HARD and Plays excellent D.

One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Welcome to Boston, Derrick. Hopefully you will provide that calming presence some players like Jrue Holiday provide to their teams when things are not going their way.

5-6 assists per game is pretty awesome for a combo guard and defensive stopper. It suggests he won’t be a ball stopper and will be another team first selfless player like Al and RW which is exactly what we need.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Yeah, number one priority was a ball mover. Hayward actually was good in that role. He seems a bit redundant with Smart but if he moves the ball it could work. Shades of DJ/Danny in the backcourt.

It always cracks me up that poorly constructed linear regression models pass for "advanced"....

I love White and the philosophy that led us to target him, but goddamn we overpaid with that 2028 swap.
