It's never too early to start looking ahead to next year's draft! I assure you, our front office execs have already started doing some research and putting their big board together.

Apparently we have three 2nd round picks next year:
https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/nba-mock-draft-2023-victor-wembanyama-scoot-henderson

A few names I'll throw out there. Even though it's really early. In case anyone wants to get a head start on looking these guys up.

-Roko Prkacin (Cibona)
-Mark Mitchell (Duke)
-Kevin McCullar Jr (Kansas)
-Alex Fudge (Florida)
-Riley Kugel (Florida)
-Ricky Council IV (Arkansas)

Roko? Yep..

We can talk about potential 2nd round targets for the C's, or about any of the other 2023 draft prospects - it's looking like a really deep, talented class.

So this is the thread for diehards? Fans who don’t care about second round picks a year from now are weirdos that aren’t diehard fans? Interesting. I’m talking about before the edits. Let’s keep it civil, we aren’t lowlife’s here.

Tank for Victor.

It does? I mean.....IT DOES!!

Oscar is good. Traditional big man. Reminds me of Tristan Thompson but with a better mid range jump shot. If he can end up being like Thompson in his prime, that's really good value in the mid to late 2nd round. After all, Thompson was the starting center for an NBA championship winning team.

Brad's drafting history tells us that he'll go with someone who's younger, with higher upside and more athleticism (looking at Begarin and Davison).

Here's someone who's under the radar as of now. Obviously long way till the draft so really hard to say which players will be available but as of now this guy could be available - he's young, good athleticism, high upside..

Man I have no idea if that guy’s good or not but that’s some really solid dunking power. Kind of a RHJ/Harrell type dude man fun dunker.

Just found out that apparently Coen Carr is not going to college till the 2023-2024 season so he'd be in the 2024 draft class, not 2023. Cross him off the list. My bad!

The draft is one of my favorite things about the NBA but I can't get excited about it without any first-round picks.

Gimme Keegan Murray's twin, Kris. Does he fall to second?

Scoot is the real prize in this draft anyway.

Marcus Sasser is projected to the second right now on Tankathon. Easy pick if he's there at the Celtics pick. Catch and shoot, off the dribble playmaking, great point guard defense. His shot release is elite. I want a million pullup threes from the Celtics and he helps that. Not a good finisher at the rim so he'll fit in with the rest of the guards on the roster, too.

Yeah, I like Kris too. Very interested to see what type of numbers he puts up this year, now they he won't hav e to split mins, shot attempts, rebounds with his twin. He could rise up draft boards with some big games.

He could possibly still be there for us but I think more than likely he is gone before our pick..

Yeah he'll probably rise, was hoping he would have stayed in last year's draft and fallen to the the Celtics pick, but probably completely unrealistic.

Yeah I had Kris on my radar as a potential option for us in the 2nd round, before he pulled out of the draft.

I think he got some feedback from teams and the feedback was probably that he'd go 2nd round or possibly undrafted so he figured he could have a big season with Keegan gone and hopefully get his draft stock higher. So we'll see...

Kris does turn 22 soon though. And Brad has picked 19 year old high upside high athleticism dudes with his first 2 draft picks so i figure he'll go with someone younger this time too.

Put him on the radar. 6'9" wing with 7'0" wingspan. Averaged 17 PPG and 8 RPG this season in the U21 league in France.

Shot just over 35% from 3, which is very good for a dude who's 6'9" and was only 18 yrs old this past season.

Will be freshman this season at Michigan:

Could be a good upside swing in the 2nd round..

Some under the radar guys I could see being a solid pick in the 2nd round:

Trevon Brazile - PF/C - Arkansas
Jett Howard - Wing - Michigan (son of Juwan Howard)
Maxwell Lewis - Wing - Pepperdine
Paulius Murauskas - PF - Lithuania

This is Lewis in a scrimmage a couple weks ago:
