I don't know where the confusion is in the first place. Jaylen is pretty clear about what he wants. If Brad and FO wants him to stay, all they need to do is sit him down, tell him they appreciate him, how he's a big part of the future, and that they want him to stay, and..... that's it! I mean, journalists are pretty smart, right? I don't know how they'd need further clarification from such a clear statement. The "it's not up to me" is a giveaway. The ball is in Brad and Wyc's court.
And look, we can make a thousand assumptions and interpretations about whatever Jaylen says from this point until maybe the offseason, but none of it matters because only Jaylen truly knows what he's really thinking and what he really wants to do. The only thing that matters right now is he continues to perform at the level he's expected to, and he continues to help the team win games and hopefully banner #18. Simple!
Looks like Jaylen said all the right things, that he could, at this point.

Jaylen bats it away and that's it.
What does batting it away sound like to you? Treating it like a legit question without ulterior motives so the reporter can get what they want or confronting the reporter for his bs and chastising sports media?
Stop supporting the commercialization/commodification of drama in sports.
Edit
JB is Player of the Week. I wish that was what everyone was focused on.

Now do the quotes where he calls a portion of the fan base toxic and that living in Boston as a black man hasn’t been easy or smooth. 2 things he’s probably 1000% right on btw and I have no reason not to take his words at face value and wouldn’t dare try- although I’d say In regards to the fan base quote that likely all fan bases have portions who are extremely toxic.
I’m just curious why you guys never throw these quotes into the thread because they certainly do not make him sound happy playing here

Will try not to worry about JB’s future with the Cs from here on out (or until the offseason) and just enjoy the playoff ride. Hopefully he helps us win banner 18 then whatever happens after that happens. In Brad we trust.
Anyway, he needs to continue finding the right balance between getting his own shots within the flow of the offense and making the right plays for open teammates. Just makes us a better team overall when he does that. Looking forward to how we do against tougher defenses (MIL, PHI, and new-look TOR) in prep for postseason.

Agreed.
I'm sure the highest priority items for Brad this offseason will be 1) JB extension and 2) Re-sign Grant.
2 big ones there.
Then he's got the draft and finding a new assist coach to replace Damon (these are obviously lesser priority than the first 2 items).
Other than those 4 things, I'm expecting a fairly low key offseason for us..assuming Pritchard likely gets moved in a small deal too..

He has to become a better passer. Other than that his shot selection is way better than JT shot selection. FG% don't count anymore?
JT has to stop to take 10 step back 3 a game. Probably 5 would be better.

I think JB is going to beast in the playoffs. No MIA/GSW caliber defense out there this year. Best playoffs of his career coming up.
