Fun article about Nique's memories. Biggest surprises to me:
-- He lived here for 5 years after playing for the Cs, before he moved back to Atlanta to take a job w/ the Hawks.
-- He thinks Hawks fans see the Celtics as their team's biggest rival.

Unsaid on that last point -- the only team the Hawks have ever played in the Finals is the Celtics. The Celtics are 3-1 in those matchups.

We're getting a pretty good announcing crew for an NBATV game. Matt Winer and Brendan Haywood on the call and Ashley Shahahmadi on the sideline.

The Hawks will give everything they have in this game. I hope the Celtics don't take their foot off the gas all game.

Priority #1: Defend the home court. The Hawks know that if they lose this one then they might as well start packing their bags.

Rebound, rebound and rebound. Make everyone else beat us rather than Trae, protect the boards/turn overs and we should win.

I don't think it's about taking things for granted.

This Celts team just lacks maturity.

The perfect example is Jaylen committing an over and back violation in the 1st half.
There was totally no defender close to him or White.
But JB still passed it to White even when White has yet to cross the half court line.
It's things like that that will doom the Celtics in the playoffs.

Hide the scoreboard from the players. Tell them they're down 10 until final buzzer.

Very good point in general applicable to the team overall.

Also great example of the kind of horse **** #7 has intermittently given us for SIX **** YEARS - right up there with driving 1 on 4 with wide open shooters to pass to (like a decapitated mouse).

When these lapses FIRST BEGIN to happen, Bubblegum needs to call a mother **** TO like a REAL coach, get in #7’s face & say ‘STOP THIS ****, YOU DUMB ****’, get in JT’s face & say ‘WAKE THE **** UP - YOU ARE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE GYM’, get in Marcus’ face & say ‘STOP **** SHOOTING’ etc. if they don’t listen, BENCH WHOEVER IS **** UP THE MOST FOR A FEW MINUTES. And if Joe does not have the balls, then Big Al or Malcolm needs to jump in & do it. Or maybe just let Ticket & Truth join the **** TO huddles.

Need to get at least two of G Williams, Hauser and Brogdon going in Game 2.

People need to look around at the other series lol. Did the Celtics let the foot off the gas in the second half? For sure, but I fully believe they went into conservation mode, Tatum especially. He destroyed them in the first half, a super efficient 21/6. The game was never even close to being competitive, so if Tatum just chilled for a half to help keep himself fresher? Cool by me.

I trust that this team knows what it takes to win in the playoffs.

These two days of rest is great for our guys but terrible for my mental health...I WANT MORE.

But also it's been great watching these other games.

I don’t disagree, but it happens to every team for the most part, if you build a monster lead in the first half. Mazzulla is going to play them big minutes regardless, as he’s all about keeping their stamina in tact, which I have no clue if it’s how it works or not lol, but he certainly does.
