This could fade a bit compared to Havlicek, Bird or even Henderson, just because it was confusing and there was no iconic call by the announcers.

Kevin Harlan kinda bungled the call cos he thought shot was not good. Sean Grande played it safe when he could've taken a chance and just thought it counted. Might have been the most boring, uninspired call of Grande among gamewinners. He was probably downtrodden too like the rest of us after Jimmy's FTs. I don't buy his explanation on Twitter hehe.

Should have never got to that situation, 8 point lead with 4 minutes remaining and every Celtic fan knew they would blew it.

Same mistakes every single time, even if we get past Miami we stand no chance against Denver if we keep on doing the same things all over again.

Yep, they took away the first two options on the inbound pass (Tatum & Brown). Freed up White for the run towards the rim.

He also disappeared offensively AGAIN. That's kind of his thing and he's not showing up when we need him the most.

"Thank God we challenged it," Smart said ...

That Horford foul seemed crushing; it led to three free throws and the clock showed 2.1 seconds. Butler made all three of them and it gave the Heat the lead. But referees wouldn't have been able to add the 0.9 seconds back unless Boston had requested the review under league rules.

When Smart launched it, White was 20 feet away, standing near the corner around the 3-point line.

By the time the ball spun out, White had somehow gotten himself to the rim.

"That's because he's the fastest guy in the league," teammate Grant Williams declared after watching how the play unfolded. "And the best looking. With the best hair!"

19 pages of post game thread after a win
We did something good

Woke up at 03:30 am to watch this (as all other games)
This was a shock! I almost had a heart attack (and I am old...)
White is a beast

As for the last 4 minutes. We stalled because of the zone and full court press. We weren't ready for it
Hope we will be ready for all Spo's shticks in game 7

I'm always against Smart taking the last shot of the game, but in this one, the Cs had no choice because he was the only one open.

Guess this is a case of because of so many failed attempts in the past, luck was finally on the side of the Celtics on this one.

Are we sure that these 3 didn't have anything to do with the lucky bounce D.White got?

Heat fans complaining that there should’ve been 2.7 secs left on the clock instead of 3.0 (White followup wouldn’t have counted).

Read on Twitter

Jimmy shouldn’t have gotten three FTs in the first place. Foul occurred before his shooting motion.

Marcus Smart’s shot almost went in. He’s obviously better than Kobe. White had less time for his gamewinner — 0.1 secs.

I honestly have no idea how you can call this 3 FTs with a straight face. The guy was lunging forward and brought his hands up just to get contact. If Horford just put his hands to the side of his body, dude would've thrown a complete brick. This wasn't a legitimate shot. It was one of those plays that never gets called, even during the regular season.

Unreal. Unreal.

He’s not a clutch shooter. Heat fans hate him because of that. They have gotten so much shooting luck this series at some point it needed to even out

Still..those were practice shots and he was red hot.

And yh I’m disgusted by this Caleb Martin kid. **** piece of **** just doesn’t miss. Today he had 15 **** rebounds also. Give me a goddamn break.

Maybe he made the leap... He's shooting >.500 from the field. He hasn't had a bad shooting game yet in 6 games and is averaging ~20 a game...

I do not understand how you are in the bonus and you don't tell your guys "Drive every possession and live at the line".

That's all the Celtics had to do and they still wouldn't do it with any consistency. Could've avoided the near heart attack! lol

Tickled to death they won but they need to be smarter down the stretch.

Ya know -- the announcers said something like the Cs needed to put their best guy on the inbound pass. And White indeed seems to have done solid decision-making on the play.

https://heavy.com/sports/boston-celtics/charles-barkley-calls-out-game-seven/

“I was passing it in, (Gabe) Vincent was on me, and he was kinda up top denying (Jayson Tatum), so I couldn’t get him the ball. They did a good job of denying (Jaylen Brown) too, and (Marcus) Smart flashed, hit him, and there really was nobody on me, so I just based to the corner, and then when he shot it, just tried to crash, the ball came to me, and I made a shot. That’s what I saw,” White said
